When I discussed the issue of trailer availability and how things had changed, I was faced with major negativity and in fact the local rep threatened to cancel my reservation, even though I had already been promised a $50 discount because of the change to the the reservation, The employee's hostility was very negative and made the pick up of the trailer discerning, After the pickup of the trailer I called the 800 number and was able to confirm the discount that the local employee was unwilling to even discuss, Sadly, there are limited one-way competitors with U-haul leaving us customers to deal with the piss poor customer support offered.BRIAN TODD H.

You have some great employees there. The guy that helped we get the rental was quick and helpful even gave a few tips on moving easier. The guy that checked the truck back in was very helpful and in a great mood he joked with us a little after I joked with him which was good after a lot of moving. Get the estimated out the door price in writing along with the whole payment. We got told 67 out the door twice by different people on the phone and pay the mileage once we got back(went to cali and back) . Got there to pick it up and was told it was 1,000 out the door because they include mileage up front and getting back you pay the difference. With what we had been told twice over the phone now had exponentially grown leaving us with no gas to go on the trip. (We had 1,000 set aside for the van, but it was coming in a check the friday we were returning which is why we were confused about the out the door payment. Luckily the assistant manager let us pay 393 up front as the hold, but when we got back they tried charging is an entire 1,000 not including what we had already paid, even though we were told the 393 would go towards the payment. Luckily we were able to figure out payment, but if you get told one thing on the phone mutliple times, and then told you just have to pay the 700+ difference to make it the 1,000 but at the counter you are expected to pay an entire grand more, totaling 1300 instead of 1,067 and then telling us that 393 will be getting returned to us. If it does not show up in our accounts by wednesday, (3 business days) we will have issues, and i recomment to anyone renting from here just get your payments in writing so its not a hassle like it was for us. Other than that everyone was very kind, did do their absolute best to try and take care of us in letting us split payments between two cards and cash, and stayed professional the whole time. So customer service is great, but the payment and out the door needs work communicating.Sierra P.

Every time I went in the store for two separate rentals, only one time a employee was wearing a mask. Saw multiple employees not wearing masks while working. The last rental I did , there was a dirty mask laying on the passenger seat. When I went to return the van even though it was outside, only one employee was wearing a mask and went into the can to inspect it. I called and complained twice and the employee that was wearing a mask said we aren't changing you for the extra day for being a few hours late. I feel both rentals should be compt. I will be reporting this Gresham Oregon location to the city for violating the mask mandate.BRIAN B.

Best experience ever at a U-Haul--nice people and the process quick and no snags. (van rental) Two complaints; the re-fueling requirement is confusing and silly. Just keep the rentals trucks' tanks full. Don't make people have to return a truck at a weird fill level because that's where the tank was when they received it. Second, my windshield was filthy. The online pickup is a joke. I had to re-enter the information I put in the day before, the wait for the responses were long, it took 25 minutes to check in at the site, it would have taken 5 minutes if I went to the counter. The location door scan was not on the door as it said and the drivers license is designed to not be copied so it too 5 attempts and waits for it to be accepted. Terrible will never do it again and will advise others to skip it.Jim W.

Right side mirror on the 20' truck did not adjust properly, and the windshield washer reservoir was empty. Both of these items are significant items for safety. Mechanical operating condition of the truck was generally good, but this wouldn't matter if one of those items contributed to an accident. Could not see properly out the right side mirror, it kept "popping" out of adjustment due to previous damage, and ineffective repair.Todd W.

I was told again to go to a different uhaul and drop the truck instead of dropping it off to the closes one. When I refused I was told I would have had to pay a service charge. Oh and when I thought I got a printed bill. It was that I was getting my deposit back not the bill. When you have agents that do not know the city. It makes it hard on the renters.Tracy T.

We were totally ripped off! We Paid $359 to bring same make trailer to Grisham, Oregon. This facility totally ripped us off by charging us $2750.00 to bring my son from college back to Texas. We are totally pissed off, and plan on taking further action. The facility in Texas even told us we were taken to the cleaners. Unless we are given a significant refund. Joel Dietrich checked out the truck to me. When I returned he was frazzled because me and 1 or 2 others also were returning equipment at around 6pm. He slapped the computer and called it a "f***ot". He was then going out to move some returned trucks and as he left he said, " This is f***ing great. Why the f*** does everyone have to return at the last minute!" Me and two other customers were in the center and heard how much he just loves his job. I was being helped by a different gentleman when I returned my equipment and he was kind and pleasant. He was shorter, had a black mask that goes around the entire head and dark brown hair. The words and actions of one has not swayed me from returning or recommending your location to others, but Joel needs an attitude adjustment.April W.

We are currently in the midst of a pandemic. Businesses are short staffed just about everywhere I go. The few times I have visited this U-Haul in the past three months this location has been busy and staffing has been minimal. The folks working here are doing the best they can and it shows that they are trying to hustle as much as possible without making a dangerous and costly mistake. I like that this location has everything I may need in one place. If I have forgotten anything they've got me covered. Hitches/receivers, lighting adapters, tie down straps, rope, labels, moving blankets, boxes, locks, gloves, tape ect ect. Prices are fair. Never a need to go out of my way or make any extra stops once I've got my truck or trailer. This particular location is located in a high traffic area. It can be difficult getting out of here with either a big truck or towing a trailer so beware if your a first timer or driving a big vehicle and or towing makes you nervous. Bring along a confident co-driver. At the end of the day this U-Haul location has been more pleasant and easier to deal with than other U-Haul locations I have visited. If you are in a hurry do the online reservation and uploading of all your information prior to arriving. This will speed up the process once its your turn in line.Matthew K.

Just a suggestion but perhaps rent a larger and or multiple dumpsters and charge $10 or $20/month for those who wish to rent them or flat charge everyone like $5/month. You would most likely Make Money this way while eliminating the current issue of being dbl charged for over flowing dumpsters. That same plan outline would work for electricity use and or access to even if only on a monthy basis. Sometimes the only spare time I have to get something out, in, or clean my storage unit is after dark and having had both an inside and outside unit I would have Gladly Paid to rent electricity so I could plug ina light to see wth I'm doing. Second time I have dealt with the person checking us in. Abrupt and not flexible.. Showed us what we needed to know. When asked about the free lock, because it says on the website multiple times - free lock with a rental. He could not handle the customer service and said, No! That is not how we do it here. When we got to the unit. There was a lock inside. He scooped it up. I said again. The website says there is a lock included. Again. He said no. We do not give out locks. I was told it was great security but twice I have gone to the storage unit and the entrance gate is wide open and then when I got to the door to enter my section of storage I didn’t have to scan my card because the door was open both times.
