When talking to U-Haul to find storage facilities equivalent to the size truck we had which was 26 ft I was told there was a facility that had a 20x10x9. No where during the conversation did the U-Haul rep say it was upstairs and 2 storage rooms units. This made the unloading process more difficult and time consuming. Had I known I would not have chosen this facility. We later learn the storage facility on Wilbur lane Spokane valley had plenty of single ground level drive up to door storage. Super unhappy with experience and U-Haul

STEPHANIE SI reserved a 4’x8’ covered trailer 1 week prior to the date I needed it. A couple days before the expected pick up date, a representative called to inform me that they didn’t have the size I needed at their location. They asked if I would settle for a size bigger trailer (5’x8’) for the same price as I was quoted for the 4’x8’ unit. I just had to pick it up from a different location several miles away. It was a little too big for the purpose and i wasn’t sure my SUV could pull a trailer that heavy for a long distance, I needed it so I agreed anyway. During pickup date, my husband went to the location to pick up the trailer and was charged the price for a 5’x8’ instead of the promised price. The customer agent refused to give us the price so we ended up paying the full price for the unit. I don’t think I have to pay for the mistakes of your agents. First of all, I made reservations a week or so prior to date so it’s supposed to be available on that day. Then, the agents tried to rectify the issue by giving me another option but for the same price for the inconvenience of driving a little ways to pick up a trailer that is a bit too big for what I needed and was concerned that it would be too heavy for my vehicle to pull. Then to just charge me for the actual price of the trailer I didn’t want in the first place is ridiculous. Next time don’t make a reservation you can’t keep and don’t substitute and quote a price then later change it up. Your mistake own up to it and keep your word. Very disappointed!

This is an wonderful offering to those of us moving---you drove it down for us and, if needed, storage was an easy alternative. (This was the last of our items and the goal was no more storage!). Your driviers that delivered the UBox and then the gentlemen who picked it up were professional, kind, and efficient. I will recommend this service to anyone moving! Chris BThe lady that checked us out seemed preoccupied as she was checking us out while on the phone and talking to other folks in the store. She seemed like she had other things to do and wanted to get us out. The trailer we got looked vintage with crackling faded stickers on the side. The lady that checked us out said the trailer was fully checked out and in perfect shape. I notice when i got to the house that the trailer was a little lower on the left side (Drivers side while pulling) and when we loaded up our household goods the trailer was leaning to one side lower by about 3". I had evenly distributed the weight with 60% more of the load towards the front for the trailer. After loading it up I noted that the door was stuck up inside the top of the trailer door track which got hung up. I had to find a crow bar to pry the door slightly so I could finally close it. (Rear door stops broken allowing it to roll back to far, so the handle got hung up on the top of the track??). I showed this issue to the U-Haul guy in Powell and he said he would note the issue and would report it. He also noted the left side lean and was looking at the leaf springs as either being broken or weak. Pulling the trailer was a white knuckle event going through the Rockies in Idaho and Montana on the way to Wyoming for over 600 miles. I am wondering if the Spokane Valley U-Haul place was just pawning off the older trailers to other out of state U-Haul places since I was going one way to Wyoming from Washington state. I saw many much nicer 5 x 8 trailers as I was driving into their lot, so it makes me wonder. Anyway the guys in Powell WY were great and said they were sorry for my experience and would look into the issues with the trailer but thought that due to the look of the trailer and the issues figured that U-Haul would be decommissioned it. (U-Haul should, as it is a dangerous trailer! If I would have been pulling it with a smaller vehicle it could have been bad.) I have used U-Haul for many moves across the USA, but this was the worst experience pulling a trailer I have had. I am planning on renting a bigger truck to take the rest of our stuff to Wyoming and might consider another rental truck company at this point as i am not happy with this experience.

Not the first time their “system” has screwed up at this location. Teach your “system” how to tell time or find another excuse for over charging.

SEAN KGiving me a truck with 7/16th of a tank was really lame. First, who counts that small? Second, when I fill it up to travel a couple hundred miles you end up getting more gas than I rented with and i don't see a credit back to me. First and only time I've ever had a truck not be full.

I think the only thing I would say had nothing to do with this specific location but the truck overall. I am short 5 ‘ and this specific truck I rented had no way to lower the steering wheel which made it very difficult to see especially while it was raining.

I literally only drive the truck for a total of 4 miles, and when I filled the tank. It took almost 5 gallons and cost me almost $20. Them when I brought back the truck, their comprer system, POS was down.

I call her the energizer bunny because she is always in motion and helping customers and training new employees (especially at the propane station when I'm buying propane). I love your storage security system and she was extremely helpful training me to enter the codes correctly. Tracie Clark has probably handled most all of my rentals and purchases. Very knowledgeable, efficient and patient to help with customers navigate the security system, the on line rental processes via my cell phone and always cheerful. I observed her patients in training new employees to fill my motorhome with propane. ( I give her five stars as the best Uhaul employee a I've had the pleasure to work with and you can tell she sincerely wants to help people) On another note, your car trailers are outstanding. The Uhaul website calculated our mileage based on pick-up and drop off locations, but didn't account for our home in the mountains that we had to go to first to unload the truck. The reservation should include this mileage. They were able to get this fixed for us.

Facility was always clean, staff was usually helpful/kind (the bad apples usually didn’t stick around for too long) rates stayed reasonable (one $5 per month increase over the 3 years) and never had an issue with billing. No hidden fees/overcharge etc. If storage is needed in my future, U Haul will be my first go-to! Keep up the great work, it’s much appreciated but probably not expressed as much as it should be.

And then when it came to accessing my storage unit no one had explained where to go, just gave me a map. I would try to resolve but the issue being with manager would be futile.
Taliferro W | First ImpressionsThis is kind of an unfair rating due to the fact that the 1-800 number for U-Haul gave us a gentleman who had made guarantees that are actually not available, for example we had specifically asked for 24 hour access. We're told we could get 24-hour access which is why we thought the price was so high for the unit in the first place and come to find out not one single U-Haul location in the entire state of Washington offers 24-hour access even though it's advertised. This was very very upsetting, and it put us in a difficult position for almost two full days, missing work, not being able to actually work a couple employees for their help moving in because we didn't actually have a unit to use due to it being"after hours", and right in the middle of moving we had to drive a fully loaded truck back to the house we're moving from, unpack it due to a very high theft rate in the area, just to have to repack it again the next day and as you can imagine this was very inconvenient and cost us quite a bit out of pocket expenses, however the general manager tried to smooth things over with us by giving us a full month of rent free through the storage unit. We were able to go to a different location where that manager had absolutely no problem whatsoever helping us get a unit even though there was a price difference she did not charge us the extra amount and she was even willing to refund the original price of the insurance that we had purchased and had us purchase a cheaper insurance policy to save us some money at this particular location was the only location that was open past 7:00 p.m. in our city so maybe not the best of all circumstances but they did the best they could to make up for the inconvenience of mistakes that were made by the 1-800 number people. Sometimes it seems like the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing and it becomes very frustrating and confusing for customers. But this particular facility is very very well maintained it's very clean they're very direct and very clear about the rules and regulations there as well as trying to get you going as quickly as possible and they are very friendly they're strict but they're friendly. Jess, she was clear straight to the point, and fast. The other young lady that was working there was cleaning the vehicles that were coming in quickly and efficiently and always had a smile on her face. I will definitely be coming back here if I do ever need storage, moving supplies, or a rental. Also, I love the fact that nit only dulo you get an access code but an individual code that you provide to arm and disarm your individual unit. Extra security and state of the art security monitoring.

Excited the unit will be conveniently on the first floor I was extremely excited. I grab the paper work and walk around back, I find said unit and low and behold the unit has two round locks on the doors. I wonder around till I find an intercom for help and iform the staff as my impression was the locks would be left inside the unit. He comes all the way over to the unit from the office desk counter with a lader. And a girl scrubbing the floor with long brown hair informed him that, the unit had been uptained by an ex employee who tried to give themselves a free year without permission and that they had been fired. I asked if, because I'm not moving out right away if I could come back in a week to have this unit when it is cleared out. As it would be inconvenient to now have to travel upstairs. They told me there wasn't anything that we could do. He takes me up the elevator and tries to offer me a unit with the same dimensions but with a small door. I need a bigger door. So he ended up placing me in a unit all the way in the back 1228 or something to that extent. So Now ai am on the second floor all the way in that back. Despite a 4 day wait prior to this experience. I took extra time to investigate on this trip. And I was a bit frustrated that this was my first interpretation of this facility.

There are no specific instructions at those doors as to how to what you need to enter to gain access using them. When we moved out the loading bays were full and we had to maneuver around another customers items in order to exit the bay door with ours. My paid for movers (mind you hired through your uhaul services) had to wait 30 mins to do their job that I paid them to do because of the inconvenience of all the large doors being closed off.. When I needed assistance with the doors I was unable to receive help as there was a 30 min wait to get assistance from the 1 man doing everything by himself. Then when asked if he could open up the larger automatic door he left snd never came back. I lost out of 30 mins I paid my movers for due to trying to figure out how I was going to haul things inside with 3 other large trucks trying to haul at the same time as us.

I don't know. I had to have an employee get me a cart from them as they were using it sit stuff on a record players, and when asked just moved it to a milk crate. Just lazy people who didn't want to return a cart for everyone.

john l | Online Move InRate this storage facility at U-City POOR. The Staff was nice and tried to be helpful but they were not trained in the U-Haul system to move in customers. It took a lot of phone calls to their Manager Adam to figure out how to admit us. We had to wait 3 hours for our pre-reserved storage unit. When we finally were in the system and signed the contracts and got our access code to the storage facility, the entire system was down and we could not get in. More phone calls to the Manager Adam. It took another hour to get access. By this time we were tired and still had an entire Truck to unload. We did not know the storage units were under ground and have to use an elevator to get to it. This is so messed up. By this time it is after hours. We even tried to see if we could get another storage facility somewhere else, but all of the other places were closed by this time and it is Saturday night. No places are open on Sunday. So we endured the torture of unloading the truck and using a small dolly provide by U-Haul to get all of our stuff moved in. This took way to long. And to top it all off, when we were done which was late into the night, the security system went down again and we could not get out of this facility. Phone calls to U-Haul go unanswered. You cannot get a live person and their emergency call button did not work. Their secure garage doors to get out are 20 feet high. Luckily we had a ladder that we put in storage and was able to use it to climb up and pull the latch release so we could lift the door to get out. I do not see how U-Haul thinks these storage units are going to work with only 2 bays to drive into and then move/haul in an elevator underground. It takes 3 times as long to move in and IF their system goes down you are either locked out and worse, locked in and cannot get out. If I would have known this facility was set up this way we would have paid for storage elsewhere. I can see why they are advertising one month free. We will be moving out ASAP...after we get rested up. This is the worst moving experience we have ever had. And to find out this facility has only been open for a couple days and no training for the employees, plus a poor system with a lot of bugs to work out. This is not how this was advertised on line. We do not recommend this Storage Facility.
