When we arrived to pick up the u-haul we stood in the main area in the store for about 10mins before the only employee ever showed up to the desk to help us. The guy working was VERY rude. Would not look at us or acknowledge us when we spoke to him. When we asked if he recommended the insurance he rolled his eyes at us, shrugged his shoulder and said "well yeah". Without even explaining to us what it all included. He maybe spoke 10 words to us the entire pick up process. When we got home with it, i received a text asking to confirm photos of the uhaul. You could tell the photos were old as there were some new damages to it that were not in the photos. We tried to dispute every photo but the link would not allow us to upload any photo or type in comments disputing it. Eventually the link expired and we never got to fill it out. We also noticed one of the tires was not holding air. We called to get assistance, it took a few hours for someone to come out to fix it. When the worker got to our house, he was also very rude. The first thing he said was "it doesnt look flat to me". We explained we checked the air-pressure and that it was low, so we put air in it ourselves and it kept leaking. He walked away from us and didnt acknowledge us when we tried to explain that. He replaced the tired and left. Drop off was a bit easier. The worker was nice. However we ended up dropping it off a day early and I still got charged for 7 days. We will NEVER come back to the Willow Lawn location ever again.Nathan E.

I was charged for fuel despite filling the tank before returning it. I was charged for 89 cents a mile despite being told the charge would be 79 cents a mile. Just annoying extra cost that I wasn't planning on.PATRICK D.

With just one worker there both days we worked with this location, it causes long waiting periods. When u provide a wide variety of services, one person is taxed with propane filling, selling boxes, renting trucks, renting flat beds. The person is busy. They were nice enough....just lots to do and lots of waiting.Craig S.

Staff very non personal. Lots of litter around the building. The bathroom was horrible. AND the worse was that the tires had no tread and I had to have a neighbor pull us out of the back yard with a truck with a front wrench. Got there at 9:40am and they were closed, came back at 10:10am they were open. Place opens at 7am?!? Isaiah (your employee) spent the whole time cussing and complaining how his boss was going to fire him, said he has bad customers service (which I agree with!). He even went so far as to write down his bosses number that I HAD to call and say he was great. Even went so far as to write down his number, so I could call him when I had done this! When I asked to add insurance and safe trip he told me they were crap and good luck getting help from Uhaul! Women before me even walked out over his cussing and attitude, should have known then to just leave myself. Could not even drop off truck in city I had booked online, made me drive 30 minutes west, THAT I GOT CHARGED FOR 15 MILES OVER! Will not make the mistake of using Uhaul ever again!GARYLEON V.

Engine light was on in truck, gas tank was only half full the equipment I rented was not provided, even though I did the app to get the truck I had to wait 20 minutes to get the keys. Generally it was a very poor experience and after that I'll be looking to a different rental company in the future as this has tarnished my view of uhaulJack H.

The rest room was disgusting. Tho is was also the 3rd alternate location for pick up, not the location's fault. Uhaul changed my location 3 times and only called me once about it. The cost for one extra day on a three day rental was almost the same cost for the entire three days. Plus when I received my bill for the extra day (only six additional hours I used it) there was no cost breakdown - it said there was a charge for $40 for the additional day and then the total was $62 with no explanation of where the other $22 came from. Overall really disappointed with this rental, have always used U-Haul in the past for my moving experiences, but after this experience will definitely look at other moving rental options. Lastly the equipment its self had issues upon further examining. The back sliding door would always get stuck going down or up, and you would have to really wrestle with it to get it to go down. And on one instance my wife while trying to wrestle it down fell and hit her arm and chin on the back of the truck.ZANE AARON P.
The truck I rented heavily smelled of cigarette smoke. I had to drive with the window down in the freezing cold and it still gave me a headache. I informed the customer service guy when I returned the truck, he did not apologize and just said â€œok.â€ This was not ok!RUTHANN N.
During COVID -19 the truck should be clean and wiped down before being rented to customer. The person that helped me didn't want to bring the truck around nor did he wipe down the truck . He isn't explain anything to me very poor customer service. It was a poor reflection on U- haul for a new customer. Trucks should be check out after each use or ask the customer if they had any problems with the truck as this is a safety issue and customer depend on U-haul providing each customers with a safe and working truck. Uhaul should check each truck to ensure dolly and moving blankets are available in case the customer need more supplies during their move . Overall it was a scary , stressful and poor experience I had with using U - haul for the first time . Safety should be U- haul number one concern for each customers that rent any of your trucks.marquitta B.

Explain rental rates and mileage options...very unclear...had to call National to get resolution, as well as credit for incorrect bill...also charged extra day for pads when they had already been returned unopened and unused in the afternoon...would think UHaul would give a credit for this!!KEITHTABB W.
Not enough staff to handle customers. I reserved a 26' truck to pick up on Staples mill. I had to settle for a 20' or drive to Mechanicsville. This caused me quite a bit of inconvenience. I had to rent the truck for longer than I wanted to be able to fit all of my stuff.john D.

The cargo van was dirty with plastic bits and food crumbs all over the seats and floorboards. In addition the Oil Chang Required light came on as I was leaving Charlotte with 300 miles left to get back to Richmond. When I mentioned this to the dealer he claimed the oil had been changed. I didn't want to argue but this begs the question why did it wait 300 miles to come on in the first place. I also told him that I had called three times between 3:45 and 4:00 and it went straight into a voice mailbox that was full so a message couldn't even be left. He said the WiFi was out. What does that have to do with getting someone on the phone? If some type of reimbursement isn't forthcoming I'm through with UHAUL.STEPHENHOLLIS C.

Overall experience was not good. My initial reservation was for another location, which was closed when I arrived. I was directed to this location which did not have all the equipment I requested. I had to go to another location do pick up the other equipment. So I had to visit three locations to obtain the desired equipment.carrick B.

My only issue was when I returned the vehicle the representative (who was on the phone) took the keys and rental agreement and told me it was going to be checked in. Later that day I checked my U-Haul app and noticed that the vehicle had not been checked in. I had to return to the facility. Upon my return the representative told me that the vehicle had not been checked in. He then proceeded to check it in and provided me with a printed copy of the receipt. Keep up the good work! I came into the location because Budget Truck Rental didn't honor my reservation. I told the Uhaul rep what had happened and he gave me a great deal on a 10-foot truck in minutes. The truck was clean, comfortable, and operated great for us.
