equipment (appliance hand dolly) was ordered at the time that I reserved the truck. However- when i arrived at the location to pick up the rented truck there was no appliance dolly available. I sent on a while goose chase to another U-Haul location-where they tried to send me to another location. I ended up doing my moving project without an appliance dolly and with a sore back. so, no, I would not recommend this location to anyone.

I chose the 24/7 no contact pickup and still had to go into the building to talk to someone rather than using the drop boxes you have at that location to receive my key. Wasted a lot of my time. Will avoid using Uhaul if possible and will never recommend to friends and family. I will go out of my way to explain what a royal pain in the ass it was renting from Uhaul.

The service was excellent the gentleman was very kind and very pleasant. The location I did not like because it was very small and the parking lot was small as well for a 15ft truck. Otherwise the gentleman was very nice.

The pick-up location was good and the person overseeing the operation took time to visit with me while I picked up the truck. As for the online check-in process, it took way too long to get approved, so I don't recommend that process if you can avoid it.

Show up on time... I wanted for an hour and a half for my u haul truck. The manager was very unprofessional. I reserve my u haul for 10:00 and didn't receive it til 11:30. Never will I ever go to 747 west main street again 0 stars

Getting this large of a truck out of this location was tricky to say the least. The truck was muddy inside and I had to clean it prior to use. I actually got charged again at drop off to clean it because I couldn't get the truck clean enough.

The location was not great (combined with a seemingly-questionable insurance sales business), but that wasn't the issue with my experience in Rochester. I reserved a truck to help move my fiance from Ionia, NY, to live with me in NH. She was defending her PhD this day, and we were going to begin loading the uHaul so we could move her to NH ASAP where she started a new job on the following Monday. During my travel west on Tuesday, August 14th, I was unable to answer my phone for the confirmation call with uHaul. I received the text message, and called back the number listed. No mention was made of the inability for me to ensure a pick up at my preferred location (near the East View Mall), and not being from the area, the text message didn't make it clear that I would need to amend my plans. I arrived at the East View Mall location the next day, and there was no truck available. This is when I learned for the first time that my pick up was going to be 40 minutes away during a day that I had hoped would be focused on supporting my fiance during her thesis defense, and starting to pack up so she can be ready to start her new job in less than a week. Long-story short, we ended up missing part of her defense and lost a day of packing due to a lack of clear communication on behalf of uHaul. I have used uHaul in the past (including moving my own apartment the week prior), but this experience has left me disappointed. I would like to ask for some renumeration of our fees for this trip, as the overall experience was far from meeting our expectations. Thank you for your consideration in this case, and I hope future customers do not have the same experience I did. -Matt

Very confusing as to where you might go to drop it off - a narrow 1-way street and a parking lot without any kind of sign. I picked it because ti was close to where I moved - but I would look a larger organization that is a dealer next time.

I requested a pick up location outside the city near my location. The truck was reserved in the middle of the city, much less convenient and less safe neighborhood. This resulted in my mileage exceeding the allowed amount = additional fees.

The location should be opened with personnel working on the day the UHaul is scheduled to be dropped off. This location did not have any personnel on duty on the day I dropped off the UHaul. This lead to unnecessary confusion.

The individual made errors which still remain on my statement. It shows I have rented Furniture dolly ($120), Appliance dolly ($12) and a Utility dolly ($10). So I was overcharged by $142. I suspect it was a glitch in the system which the Victor, NY locations experienced. They system just crashed after they tried to remove the items from the original request which they moved to Rochester because they didn't have the one way van available. Needless to say, I am still trying to resolve this!!

The gentleman that assisted me was very kind, but extremely slow. They could work on their speediness being that I was their only client, had all of my information ready and it took almost 30 minutes to get the truck and then it didn't have the extras I had requested and paid for, which took another almost 10 minutes to get.

Very hard to tell this was the correct place to return the truck. One very small UHaul sign. No orange drop box for keys. No phone number visible. No instructions to use the online drop off. I admit we did not read the paperwork for instructions. My husband even refused to leave the truck here. We went to another UHaul dealer , the gentleman there said we had to go back and use the online check in. So we did and it was fine. Just not the standard uhaul dealership we are used to. But now that we know, we would use it again.

They took my husbands credit card and was going to charge it 337 dollars and the price on line was 252. I was supposed to get a hand truck and moving pads I got nothing but a truck with only an eighth of a tank of gas. When I called to complain later in the day. They said my reservation was canceled and they had no idea I had the truck. I could of kept their truck and no one would of known. Very unprofessional!

The location I had to pick up the truck from was not the location I had chosen, and was out of my way. There were no “U-Haul” signs anywhere, so even finding the place was a nightmare. The person there took forever and did not know what he was doing, and I felt like my time was wasted.

The staff was ok. I have gotten a Uhaul before somewhere else, and they came out and went over aspects of the truck. Here they just walked out, watched me take out the sun visor, and thats it.

Was told by the gentleman that the location I was to drop off was different than the location I intended to use. He told me " It doesn't matter", and would not correct the contract. After I dropped off (at my preferred location) I was contacted and told I would incur over $75.00 in additional charges!!!

Have the original truck I needed. I went to the Irondequoit location, they didnt have a 26' truck due to another customer not returning it on time, and I was stuck with a 17' truck from this location after 2 hours dealing with a mountain of shit. The people at the 747 West Main St. location were great though. Wonderful people. Overall, I will recommend to any friends that they use Penske, DiCarolis, Ryder, Budget, or anyone else I can think of. I was also told I would receive a $50 credit if I called back the next day... I have called 3 times now and not received a call back. Overall, horrible experience with Uhaul. This started off my move in a horrible fashion.

This location is in a bad area of town, located on a small one way side street, which made it difficult to maneuver a large truck out of the parking lot.

we were charged 141 dollars for a 12 mile trip. when we dropped off the truck they guy said it would be around 45$. as he was giving the receipt, system froze or the machine broke and he said he could email the receipt to the one on file, i found that acceptable. I never received the email. i called u haul about the 85$ hold the next day and than they tell me i owe them 141 dollars more, saying theres a fee for dropping it off at a diff location. If that was the case why wouldn't the guy who took the truck let us know. thats more than 100$ difference, we would have just taken the truck to the location we picked it up at, it was only a few miles away.

I had reservation for 9am pick up, they were not there. I called number on door the person said they will be there in 20 mins, person did not show up for 45 mins, although my reservation was first to be rented and I was first in line he took a walk in reservation before me. Then a Uhaul field manager came as a pop up I explained situation and he got me signed out because owner went with walkin person outside. Upon returning the owner saw me but got in his car to leave a woman was at the door and abruptly locked the door, I rang buzzer for her to yell rudely to drop key in box I told her I was returning early and where to park truck since parking lot was full and the business wasnt closed for another hour for her to rudely say she dont care and to do as she says. At the same time another customer came for truck reservation pick up she rang buzzer told the woman for a rude remark and that she is not doing reservations so oh well. The woman called number on door spoke to owner who said he will not return for 3 hours and she will have to wait she agsin advised him of reservation time and he said she can rent from somewhere else. I was appalled. Never will I rent from this company again. Uhaul needs to pull their business from them.

I was given a vehicle that needed maintenance badly. In addition to the numerous scratches, dings and dents, the cab leaked in the rain and the display constantly showed that the truck was overdue for an oil change.

It was hard to find. They need better signage and the tenant upstairs had to tell me I couldn't park in the lot located near the store. So I had to moved the truck according to the tenant above the store. I had to drive further to drop off the truck because another lot was full. I don't feel I should be charge for that.

Nothing needs to be improved at this site. Everyone at the W. Main Street, Rochester, NY U-Haul site were very polite and accommodating. You are lucky to have such pleasant & qualified employes at this location, Best customer Service of any U-Haul I've ever been to.

When I arrived home, there were dirty bandaids, nails, and lots of small debris throughout the back of the truck. On the back wall, there was a sign saying that if the truck is not cleaned out, customers would be charged a $25 cleaning fee.

It took us an hour at the site for the person to complete the paperwork--it should never take that long. While I appreciated the fact that the site had called me to alert me that the truck I wanted (a 21 foot truck) was not available, getting the truck should not have been so hard. I had to take a larger truck which I also hated. I won't use UHaul again, despite being a customer for over 35 years. I'll try Penske next time.

site was not opened when I arrived, and it took 45 minutes to get the truck released to me. I had also ordered 24 pads, and they only had 6. The guys said, in a very cavalier fashion, that I could just pickup the rest at another U-Haul location.

I was sent to this location as opposed to the location I requested because it was the nearest one with the available equipment even though I made the reservation more than a week in advance. They had the right size truck but only 5 of the 12 furniture pads and no utility dolly. Also I was charged for going over my allotted miles when the number of miles I went over were less than the number of miles difference between my intended location and this one. Also the man seemed very annoyed with us. Overall, my experience was very poor and I do not intend to use your services in the future.

Everything. Not having the office/owner chase 2 ten year olds down the street with a gun. Spend the extra 6-8 minutes the office/owner said it will take to get an equipment (dolly), cause they didn't feel like doing it. Letting the customer know why your charging an extra$14 for insurance, when asked why is it more expensive than what they said on the phone with reservations, but just saying oh well.

The location was fine for picking up a truck but I was turned-off by the 'bullet proof' looking glass at the pick up counter and they had no boxes in stock. After I ordered the truck I decided I needed 5 boxes and they didn't have any for sale.

I ordered a 17 foot truck and was only given a 14ft truck (the only vehicle at their entire location) Also the pick up location was 28 miles from where I was getting the furniture so it added more miles and more fuel that I had to replace!
