Website needs some work and updates. Better knowledge of availability, rather than being called an hour or two before thinking you are picking up what you reserved.

The only problem I had was not with ether location. When a person sets up a reservation for something in advance. The item should be at that location not change 3 times to other location. This made my move stressful. Not have the piece of mind that I would have the U-Haul to move. I had the U-haul, but it add over an hour to get my stuff loaded and getting on the road.

The place was not impressive, but he had the truck and dolly combination I needed. Had it hooked up and ready to go. The man greeted us as soon as we arrived and was very congenial.

Educate customers on the coverage you provide. I was involved in an accident and I was under the impression I was covered because I requested coverage until I was told I was only covered unless damages were done to the uhaul only.

No one was physically there we went to return the U Haul and it was difficult to tell where exactly it needed to be returned at, but we managed. I ended up using the mobile U Haul app to return the U Haul myself because it was easier than waiting for someone and I did not want to be charged extra. There was a sweet lady there that informed us the owner was not there and that he would possibly be back later or tomorrow, but by that time I had already submitted the U Haul onto the mobile app. Renting a U Haul for the journey that I made was not the most pleasant, but it did make it easier

Dolly was not available even though ordered during reservation over the phone. The pickup location did not even have a dolly available onsite. Call waiting times were really long. We literally moved everything before anyone could help us find another dolly due to excessive call waiting times. Call transfers were >1. We were told that we could not return truck to destination at initial reservation. In other words, we would have to drive more miles to bring the truck back to original pick up store which would cost more money.

Location at Vinton Louisiana was very very dirty!!! The person at the facility did not inspect the vehicle with me to identify existing damages to vehicle. This caused concerns returning the vehicle in Sunnyvale due to a damaged front bumper and other scratches and dents that was not caused by me. The vehicle had mud in the floor boards and a bad smell in the cab. The damages had an X sticker that had been removed but you could still see adhesive where the sticker was placed. Also the vehicles fuel tank was empty. The facility did credit me and required I return it with 1/4 tank, I returned it with a 1/2 tank. I want to express my dissatisfaction also with the fact that we had to drive to Vinton Louisiana to pick up the truck. I stopped by the location in Orange Texas when I arrived in town to verify the vehicle was ready to be picked up. I discovered it had not been returned and no message from the previous renter when it would be available. They young lady at the Orange Texas facility did not offer any suggestion other than calling the UHaul to reschedule or find another pickup location. I chatted with UHaul from the website explaining my situation, they informed me that the previous renter extended their contract another day. Now I am in a bind, I have movers schedule at both locations and unable to reschedule. The alternate solution was to drive to Louisiana. My contract said I had a guaranteed pickup in Orange?????????I understand that you can not control the people that rent vehicles but if I had not stopped to verify, this would have turned out very ugly for me and my relocation.

Uhaul never contacted me with a location for pick up. I had to call them and come to find out I had to drive 36 miles out of Texas to Louisiana to pick up a truck. Then told us to drive back to Livingston Texas which is an hour away from where we live.

This location was just a few trailers outside of what looked like an abandoned building. The location did not feel very safe and there was no one to assist. So i had to unload my car alone with some pretty sketchy people all over the place. Overall my experience with Uhaul was very bad. The pricing was ridiculous. To bring a truck from Chicago to Houston was $2,800 as opposed to $700 the other way around. So i did some research and returned it to Louisiana for $1,200. So I had to drive an extra 4 hours to save $1,600. Just Silly. I have a second reservation with Uhaul in two weeks and I am just praying that it will be somewhat better of an experience.

Was told I would pick up truck in Lake Charles, then told I would have to drive 30+ miles away to pick up truck. Spoke with the man where I was to pick up truck, told to pick up at 0730, was there but he was not. Building looked like an abandoned 2nd hand store with attached warehouse in disrepair. Two other gentlemen were there to pick up trailers and almost left with trailers because of the tardiness of the owner. Finally left about 9am. Gas tank was at 1/4 tank barely enough to make it back to Lake Charles where I had to refill the tank just to drive to my storage unit to load up. Truck had more "x's" indicating damage on it than I had ever seen. My friend dubbed it the "X-truck". The gas mileage was horrible 7mpg, the ride was very rough- definitely not an air-ride suspension as advertised, and there was dried clay on the drivers floor mat and the box had not been swept clean. Some compensation was given for location pickup change.

I was stranded in a small town Vinton, LA, we went to visit and our car broke down, we searched for car rental, hitches and hotels, none around. I googled UHAUL and found one within a few miles distance, I called customer service spoke with Representative (Claudette Ruehl) explained to her needed the tow hitch for a vehicle, she went over the rental information for a 14 foot uhaul truck and recommended the auto storage for my size vehicle and completed our reservation, but when I called the store location the agent told me his internet was down and unable to rent any equipment, so I called back and spoke with Claudette Ruehl and she called the agent and explained to him she would complete the transaction on her end and email me the receipt, and I had no transportation to the store location being stranded in a parking lot, I called the agent back Curtis @ Vinton Specialities and explained that I had been stranded all night in a parking lot and asked if he could please come by and pick me up and take me back to the store location to complete the transaction, Claudetee Ruehl stayed on the phone and completed the transaction along with the agent and I was off on my way back to Houston, Texas. She was very professional, courteous, caring for the customer. She made a world of difference in assisting with my ordeal. Thank you Claudette Ruehl & Agent Curtis.. After filling the tank back to where it was when i got it, half full, i was charged $42 for fuel on my card after i dropped it off. Not fair at all. Won't use uhaul again. I'll use Penske instead.

I was unable to pick up my truck from this location because it was closed on a sunday. Due to the gentleman calling the day before pickup, and explaining the pickup would be in lake charles instead of vinton, plans had to be rearranged and we had to pick up 30 miles out of our way. Having to backtrack 30 miles added a wasted 60 miles to our mileage, putting us over our 175 allowed miles.We also had to pick up 15 hours early, leaving us to scramble to meet our drop off deadline.

The location has a dial-up connection. It me over an hour to rent the dolly because his computer froze up and he had to restart. The dolly that I rented was rusted, I scraped my hands up trying to latch down my vehicle, and the center would not turn. So I was unable to back up from anywhere on my whole trip. VERY annoying!

It would be nice to get a call in advance when original reservations are going to be changed. My reservation got changed after it had been confirmed. I receive a call the day off my schedule pickup telling me i will have to drive an additinoal 30 miles out to pick up a truck. My original reservation which I had confirmed the day before had been given to someone else! Needless to say i was equally pissed and inconvenienced!
