I arrived at Walkers Auto and had to hook up trailer and check lights without any assistance. When I checked the lights, they were not working properly. I went inside and advised the owner and requested a new trailer with working lights. The owner told me he didn't have any other trailers to give me and that the light issue was most likely a "grounding problem" and once I went down the road, the ball and trailer tongue would ground and resolve the issue... Well, that did not work. When I got home, I re-checked the lights on the trailer and they were still not working so I called road side assistance. They came and inspected the trailer and found the wiring was crushed, frayed, charred and shorting out. He told me he could not fix it and the trailer would need to be completely rewired and recommended that the trailer be towed because it was not safe to pull due to the charred/shorted wiring. He had Uhaul support call a tow truck and they came later that evening to tow the trailer away. The shorts in the trailer wiring caused fault notifications on my truck that advised me to pull over safely and contact my nearest Toyota dealer. I had to unhook the trailer and take my truck to my mechanic who inspected the truck and cleared the fault codes and inspected the fuses. The charged me $150 (I have the receipt). The next morning, I picked up a new trailer from a different location and the lights on the new trailer were not working either. The garage cleared the codes and checked fuses but did not have a trailer to connect to at the garage to test the trailer lights. They said that the shorts in the original trailer wiring caused damage to my truck towing module or related wiring / components and I would have to take it to the Toyota dealer. I have not had a chance to do that yet. Meanwhile I had already wasted most of the day that I was supposed to be loading the trailer due to the faulty wiring on the trailer and having my truck repaired. So, getting the new trailer and realizing the lights were not working due to damage done to my truck, I had to load the trailer knowing the lights would not work on my 500 mile trip back to FL. I didnt have a choice as I was moving to FL and closing on my SC home and had to be out of the house. I made it to FL without incident fortunately and returned the trailer to Apollo Beach Uhaul location. The summary of my experience was an epic fail on the part of U-haul. I have used U-haul many times previously but this by far was the worst experience in customer service resolution and poor equipment maintenance ever! I wasted a day and a half fixing your problem and swapping equipment instead of packing and cleaning the home I was moving out of. What was most disappointing is U-haul refused to deliver an new trailer at at the same time they had to tow the other one away. Instead, they told me, "We can't deliver trailers" and I corrected them and told them they could deliver a trailer but the simply where making a conscious business decision not to deliver a trailer and further inconvenience their customer (ME). They have credited $150 toward the rental fee but I have a $150 repair bill that only fixed part of the issue related to my truck and have to take it to the dealership when I finish unpacking which will be an additional fee depending on what they find. My expectation is that U-haul refund the entire rental amount and pay my repair bills once the issue is resolved and final costs known. After I unloaded the trailer in FL, I disconnected my truck and hooked up to another tow vehicle which isolates the problem being my truck that was damaged by towing the original trailer with faulty wiring. I have pics of the faulty wiring and the report from the roadside repairman will support my claim. Very disappointing and a horrible client experience. I am a recently retired VP of a fortune 70 company and I know what good customer service looks like.

Using the UHaul app was unclear and slow. The renter needs to know ahead of time to follow certain steps before others or it doesn't really work. For example, I locked the truck and dropped the keys in the box, but then the app wanted photos of the odometer and inside cab...had I known ahead of time, I would have been able to do this, but no one, not the app, nothing explained this until it was too late. Need better instructions and awareness beforehand.

No one on site for Sunday afternoon pickup. When starting up the truck the indicator light came on stating that the front left tire had low pressure. We called UHAUL and then was transferred to roadside service. We had to wait for 1.5 hours (the first reponder declined the work so another provider had to be called) for someone to come out and fix (change out) the tire. After the work was complete, the indictor light remained on for the remainer of the rental period.

This location was clean, professional and efficient in the pickup/drop-off process. U-haul overall sucks. Several listed locations did not exist when visited. When I talked to a scheduling associate they did not offer some locations that would have been more convenient and gave incorrect information about this location's operating hours. When the final receipt for payment was received, it had extra fees never mentioned by anyone I interacted with. They appeared to be fixed rate fees so just put them in the rental rate and cut out the surprises. The mileage charge of $.99/mi for the truck I rented means you've already collected $151,000 in mileage charges on this truck not counting the rental rate. On top of your costs was $75 for gasoline not included in the mileage rate. The products I rented the truck to deliver would have been delivered by the retailer for $600. I had to pay two people to help unload the truck at my destination so all in, I spent $442 not accounting for my time making the actual delivery and aggravation dealing with the rental process. And then there is this survey which I suspect will be laughed at rather than taken seriously. Did I get a fair value,? I don't think so.

Carl was great. However the truck that was provided was filthy, 1740000 miles and the transmission kept slipping. I did not feel safe driving it. The UHaul app sucks. It never works correctly.

The location was fine - the U-Haul corp reservation system is terrible. When i make a reservation, to me this means my equipment is reserved for my use at the planned time/day… in the past and again at this rental, the reservation changed at last moment - so the ‘reservation’ meant nothing… i had to revise plans to drive clear across town to another location to pu & drop off (twice the inconvenience). You can do better. I have yet to have a U-Haul reservation go as expected…

The truck was clean and ran well. Only question was a noise at right front tire when speeds were under 20mph and would stop when brakes were applied. Suspect a brake pad issue. I reported it w/ dealer. Otherwise, both dealer and truck were easy to deal with and very helpful.

The rental agent stated that I had the truck for 6 days for $478.29. I confirmed it with her four times. Then an agent called me to arrange a drop off and said I had it for only two days and then she proceeded to call me a “liar”. Not professional at all. Then I called u-haul to see what they had in their records. I was told to have it back by Sunday at 0857. I turned the truck in Saturday and the agent said I was a day early. Then u-haul charged me another $118.80. I contacted u-haul and the regional u-haul director was suppose to call yesterday. No call as of yet.

The truck leaked a massive amount of oil on my driveway. I had to add one gallon of oil because it leaked so bad. I was later charged for two gallons of gas for only driving a total of 3 miles.

The app needs to be worked on. Images take several minutes to upload, then don’t work somehow. It would not allow us to properly fill out the paperwork for returning the vehicle. It’s 2025, fix the app for better usage of it.
