Everything was great. I was running about 15 minutes late due to construction, but I couldn’t reach anyone by phone during my attempts. It would be great if U-Haul had a text-message option to advise the location if you’re going to be late. For example, if I’m scheduled to return equipment at 5 PM, I could receive a message earlier that day with the option to reply with an updated ETA. It would also be great if U-Haul could list nearby locations that may need the equipment and give customers the option to return it to an alternate location, when convenient for the customer.

U-Haul notified me less than 24hrs prior to my reservation that they only had a smaller trailer available. Learned after the fact, that this was a booking issue from U-Haul central, not the location, where in they overbooked, 2 days prior to the rental date, despite my reservation being made nearly 3 weeks prior. Ultimately this was resolved day of through the efforts of the local location, but left someone in the same bad situation as a result. The person who notified me from U-Haul's Atlantic Canada office lacked both caring and empathy and essentially said it was not U-Haul's problem. Suggested I could go to Gander where the next closest vehicle was (for those note from NL, that's close to 400km) and would not offer a gurantee that the trailer and would not even offer compensation sufficient to cover the cost of gas. All of this putting the great staff at the location in a very bad spot. They shared that this was a somewhat regular occurance, from what reps in Tenessee shared with me when trying to solve this issues, when Atlantic Canada booking office would not answer indicated that this should not have occured. Long story to say... if you need to do a one way rental off the island, dependent on a ferry booking, use extreme option. Unforunately there are no other options available.

Truck lost power on highway. Almost no steering control. Truck need to be seriously looked at. Not the first time i get this truck and was told it would be fixed before going out again. Just cuts out multiple times! Not safe to drive. Will be calling headquarter to discuss this.

Drove 3 hours to pick up a 6x12 enclosed...15 min before arriving uhaul phoned and told me it was rented...it was on the lot. Then told it was a day rental. 5 x 8 I wanted was told it was due for maintenance...then told it was a day rental. Attendant had zero knowledge about how to hook up trailer...zero...totally unprofessional. I will never rent equipment from this location again.

Clean the dog hair out of the cab and try to make it smell less like wet dog. I was also told that I would get refunded for unused miles when I dropped the truck off which was not the case.

The Filipino that took my reservation booked it for 12pm not 8:30 as I requested. I needed this truck for a very specific reason for my work and had to take a bigger one. Come to find out afterwards the smaller truck was parked outside behind the location, and they did not even know. Very unprofessional and no empathy on what had happened. When I came back with the truck another guy was there and said he screws up all the time. So not sure why the keep staff that can’t seam to get it straight. Dissatisfied but I’m sure UhAul don’t care.

Very dirty inside the cab. And low tire light was on saying needing air Told the guy said ignore it. It’s the sensor. Wow For place that details car think would be very clean. Also no paper for paper receipt.

New staff needed to be better trained in the manner in which the equipment performs to the best safety standards. When harnessing around the tires on a dolly isn't done correctly you could lose your vehicle being towed.He was eager to learn and no one could expect more efficient service.

It seems every time I order a specific sized U-Haul it is never there when we arrive. We usually have to take a larger size, which means more money per kilometer, and more money in gas. Very inconvenient, not to mention misleading. The location/employees we picked the truck up from were very understanding and excellent to deal with.

The drop of location was great with great service from the employee. I have no recommendation for improvement. It was a very easy and simple drop off. The employee was friendly and very helpful with assisting the removal of the trailer.

There are no vehicles appropriate for class 4 drivers road test in my hometown of Stephenvile, and my understanding is port au Basque also. I had to drive to Corner Brook, rent a hotel and do the rest there, to escape the out of town contract and km associated with doing the drivers test in Stephenville. I voiced my opion on this to the Uhaul outlet in stephenvile, port aux Basque and Corner Brook. As well as the DMV in those areas. I certainly hope this breaks the gouging monopoly both Corner Brook Uhaul dealers and, Uhaul as a corporation, has on the Newfoundland provincial DMV and citizens of Newfoundland. My experience was very very poor.

The attendant insisted we take the van that had all-wheel drive instead of the 15’ truck that I had booked. It was a bit stormy that morning and he felt that was the safer option. We appreciated his concern and suggestion. I didn’t catch his name but it was very kind of him to look out for us like that.

Went a total of 4 miles and it cost over $17 in gas to move a bed and 4 chairs in a small cube truck from apartment just over tge hill to storage.. Was going to rent a uhaul for moving my daughters stuff from storage to home but the cost of gas it would take to make the trip we figured it would be cheaper to make a 2-3 trips in truck plus hotel and ferry cost.
