The manager was abusive. Used inappropriate language with me because I said I didn't want the insurance coverage. Told me he refused to remove it. Did not represent the U-Haul brand well. Had to reach out to regional manager Larry for help. Larry did a great job, but he is not at rental location. This manager is not suited to deal with the public.

Went pick up he said 183 plus said had pay 100 security so calling bank in am if he charged me 100 to his hotel I well press charges went drop off and lady said he ripped me off no deposit of 100 was needed so as soon get ahold bank in am if he charged me 100 Xtra I will be pressing charges with my bank and law don't want be a witch but if he did that u have a rip off site

Check out and return service non existing, no info at all phone service sucked so the return was difficult and time consuming. The pickup not much better.

The U-Haul counter in the hotel was only staffed Mon - Fri and we dropped off on a Sat. There was no clear signage when we first entered the hotel lobby. Hotel staff was friendly and directed us to the key drop off location. There was plenty of signage at the U-Haul self serve area once we found it.

They need to clean the windows inside and out. The wipers did not clean them at all.

The place was filthy, it even had a dead fly on top of the counter. The gentleman (Mr. Smith) added additional fees to my invoice without my authorization(padding, dolly and insurance)- the truck didn't have any of those items and if they did I would have paid for it. The truck was filled with trash on the floor and greasy all over. There was dirt and dry fries on the floor. I used the truck for 4 hrs and dropped it off at the Gaitherburg location. You can probably check by GPS.

The drop off point was far away, and beyond other locations we could have dropped it off. The drop box was not visible. The location for parking the truck was not identified. We just found a spot in the lot. Very poorly done!

I arrived at my scheduled time (10AM) at the Wingate by Wyndham Hotel in Lancaster, PA on Sunday, June 5th. The General Manager came out and checked on the truck; then when I asked him what I should do when I call the 877 number highlighted by the pick up location on the contract, he had no idea what I was talking about. He then proceeded to have me wait for 10 minutes to speak to a UHaul rep on the phone. While waiting I attempted to do the mobile return - even though my location settings are fully enabled, the U Haul site gave a continuous error and wouldn't let me do mobile return. The GM then called me into his office and insisted I was at the wrong drop off location and said it was supposed to be in Paradise, PA - I told him that is not correct as my equipment contract clearly stated the drop off was in Lancaster, as well as my original email from U Haul that stated the same thing. After back and forth with the GM and him being on the phone for another 10 minutes, he finally said "you're good" and let me on my way. Overall it was an unpleasant experience that was not seamless and I am not sure why the customer service and experience was disorganized and poor.

I rented the truck for 2 days but returned a day early. I had a accident with my car on the lot so I didn't turn the truck in yet. The employee called to rush me to check the truck in so he could rent it out again. While i was still dealing with my accident.

Yes but a 20ft truck is only 16 foot on the floor of thew box. I was hauling 20ft stock and 3 feet were were unsupported outside the box. Person at the rental location could only tell me to go to the web site for more information.

The tires on my box truck need changing?! I saw a lot of gashes and cuts on the front tires.. Please allow a veteran to get a military discount when reserving a truck online or in person? I lubed up the back of the truck door cause it was very rusty too..

My experience overall was pretty good, except that I could not use the app when I returned the vehicle. There was a technical problem where it wouldn't locate where I was dropping the vehicle, which caused me to have to call in and waste time on the phone with customer service. But the representative was very helpful and got it all taken care of.

Not much can be done. At the time of checkout, someone was sitting in the waiting room area (of the hotel) playing some loud cartoon or song. It made it very difficult to hear the gentleman behind the counter.

It was not the U-Haul employee that was horrible, but the workers at the hotel that made the process of renting the truck a bad experience. The actual U-Haul representative there was excellent and helpful.

You need to fix the functionality of your app and website. I lost over 2 hours of my time for the rental just trying to complete check in. I was greatly inconvenienced to a point where I missed important time with my son. Also, I was charged for things that weren't available to me.

Pick-up by phone was tedious. HAVE to use Chrome for it to work. Truck was fine. It was clean and did what it was supposed to do. Reservation was easy up to the point of picking up the truck. This location is nice, if for no other reason than it is a nice motel, with a lobby to get out of the weather and restrooms if you need them.

This location and the customer service rep was fine. I had issue with uhaul renting me the truck for less than 24 hours when you advertise a price for 24 hours. The fact that I had to be called and asked to bring the truck back because it was booked out before my 24 hours was up and I wasn't done with my move is unprofessional and makes me think twice about renting from uhaul again. I even took back a full tank of gas when I got about 3/4 tank.

This was one of the most harrowing experiences of my life. I have fairly frequently rented from uhaul but not used the 24/7 system. Very hard to navigate and I had issues with the picture ID/ drivers license verification. This process took 2 hours mainly because I could not get to talk to a live person. I still had to pick up stuff and drive 2 hours. So very tired and upset when it was over.

Make clear that it is Wingate and NOT Wyndham which is just down the street. Make the lockbox a bit easier to access near the front of the lobby.

Got sent by email and by the person at the pickup location to a completely different location. Then had to turn around and drive somewhere else -I assume this is for them to try and get you to over over miles. Really ridiculous and put a damper on my moving process.

Called upon arrival as instructed and was immediately put on hold for 10 minutes. Hung up and decided to go inside. Once inside there were no signs showing where to go for uhaul. Front desk staff was struggling to help guests waiting to check into hotel so I got in line to wait and ask. 15 minutes passed and I finally got to the front of the line where I was greeted by staff saying they could not help me and that I had to go down the hall and around the corner to do self service. Very disappointing experience.

Had over 1100 miles to drive. The truck drove well. Nothing to complain about. It was clean when we picked it up. The manager on duty was nice and friendly. The hotel lobby was full of people also since it was a weekend pick up for me.

I was not told to go on line to create an account when I called to reserve and see availability of the equipment. I incorrectly assumed a call to the manager when seeking availability would result in me showing up on the day to sign paperwork but now I know your locations are all self service. It was difficult to get WIFI/ data access at the pick up point resulting in a 1.5 hour frustration to get the key. On turn in …the poor data access … with location services on in my phone , would not allow me to share my location in order to complete picture uploads for the turn in process. To the managers credit he did finish my turn in for me on the Monday following my turn in. . The billing was accurate and all finished well. Advise callers to create an on line account before pickup. I appreciated the help I received on the help line.

My Uhaul experience went well. Found the location without any issues. The truck rental went well and was fast. The manager was very nice and professional and explained everything so I knew what I was signing. The rental was for 2 days which gave me enough time to move to New Jersey.

Had a reservation A MONTH in advanced and was called THE DAY of our move to say our truck wasn't available! We took the only truck available which we weren't not able to fit all of our belongings and now we have to get another truck and pay twice as much to get the rest! Don't worry for the second truck we have to get we will NOT be using uhaul! And we will be sure to influence everyone we know NOT to use uhaul.

The one way rental went without a hitch. Drop off center was in a hotel which was different. Usually they are always at a gas station or repair shop. The hotel has a big lot so parking wasn't a issue. This drop off center was closer for me anyway.

Make clear that this is a self service location in a hotel that is not otherwise clearly marked with signs that indicate where/how to self service. The cleaning lady at the hotel was nicer than the woman working the front desk who did not show up until we'd been waiting for 20 minutes.
