Welcome to St. Petersburg, Florida!

Pack your belongings and rent a moving truck to make your beach living dreams a reality!

For many, living in south Florida is a dream come true. Saint Petersburg brings great weather, a low cost of living and some of the best seafood caught on the east coast. Locals refer to the city simply as ‘St. Pete’ but it is also known by many as ‘The Sunshine City’ for its average of 360+ days of sunshine each year. St. Pete actually holds the Guinness World Record for having the most consecutive days of sunshine, with a total of 768 days. On top of that, the average high during the summer is right around 90 degrees and the winter is pretty tame, with temperatures rarely dipping below the 70 degree mark.

Driving Your U-Haul Truck Rental to St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg is a small peninsula off of the west coast of Florida’s panhandle between Tampa and the Gulf of Mexico. Tampa acts as the main hub to St. Pete by providing bridge access to the city via Interstate 275 (Sunshine Skyway Bridge), Highway 60 and Highway 92. If you are driving from the east coast, I-75 is probably the route you want to take to reach St. Petersburg. It begins in Chattanooga, TN and navigates south through Atlanta, and then down to Tampa where you can access the city via three bridges. If you are driving to St. Pete from the Midwestern areas, you may have a quicker trip by navigating onto Highway 91 in Tallahassee which hugs the west coast of Florida, going directly south into St. Petersburg.

Knowing the Neighborhoods

Saint Petersburg covers more than 130 square miles and has over 100 different neighborhoods for you to choose from. A majority of the communities located on the northeast coast of the island have higher rated public schooling and lower crime rates. To name a few, Shore Acres, Snelle Isle, Gandy and Terra Verde are some of the highly ranked neighborhoods in this region. If you go even further north, Safety Harbor and Palm Harbor are two notably safe areas as well.

St. Pete’s Vibrant Art Scene and Growing “Hip” Culture

Not only is St. Pete known for its great weather and white sand beaches, residents are also heavily involved in the local art scene. The Dali Museum showcases more than 100 drawings, sculptures and artwork from the late Salvador Dali. The Morean Arts Center is another local museum featuring watercolor paintings, drawings and one of a kind vibrant glass sculptures. We haven’t even mentioned the art shows, events and festivals that take place each year. These are all just a few of the things that are contributing to St. Pete’s growing popularity. The New York Times is calling this one of the top destinations to see in the world and its appeal is only growing stronger.
