I rented a truck to transfer lumber from Lowes to my home. The trip to Lowes and from Lowes to my home went fine. After I unloaded the lumber and headed back to drop off the truck, the truck began to backfire and run very rough. The engine stopped at the first stoplight. I was able to restart it and then the check engine light came on. We limped back to the U-Haul shop. When I pulled into the lot, the U-Haul person said “what did you do to break my truck.” After thinking about it later, I should have gone into the office and asked for a refund for being assigned a broken truck. Just think how horrible that would have been if that happened after I had fully loaded the truck - and then have to transfer the entire load to another truck.
