There are two places in this town to drop off a U-Haul. The day after renting (and when the trailer was nearly full), a U-Haul rep called to tell me that I could not drop the trailer at either place because they were full. I was told the closest place was 50 miles away…I told them I would not drive 100 miles to drop off a trailer they rented with a known destination (especially with gas near $6/gal!). It finally worked out that I was able to drop it locally, but I was shocked they rented it to me, knowing where it was going, and then tried to change my drop-off location. You’re either U-Haul or you’re not…figure out your business issues and don’t try to make YOUR problem mine. I’m the customer. Pretty disappointed Uhaul felt compelled to inject significant stress to an already stressful situation.
