Loading door was locked, and wouldn’t open, elevator was broken. Had to go to office and was told I could “use the stairs” because the elevator had been broken for 3 days. This is after I had already unloaded everything from my car, then out it all back in my car. I was then given the option to take a more costly unit after I had no other choice and no options were given to me. I was given no directions to the new unit, even though I asked. I had to ask for a map, repeatedly, and it seemed the man behind rhe counter was hesitant to give me one, even though they were hanging right behind him and there seemed to be plenty. It was a really disappointing experience, and actually highly unusual compared to any other experience I’ve had with UhAul, including my previous experience at the same location renting a trailer, which went very well. The storage experience- terrible. Worst ever. Sorry to be brutally honest, but unfortunately the staff that day seemed poorly trained and unprepared to deal with any hiccups- even the elevator which hadn’t been working for 3 days.
