BRIAN J | First ImpressionsThe unit itself was nice. We did have some problems with billing and receiving late notices. I showed up to my unit to have it locked so I couldn't get in due to late payments according to the staff. We had payed ALL of our bills one week early and had receipts from uhaul showing this to be true. After HOURS of providing proof, I was able to get back into my unit the following day. Clerical errors were the main cause for the inconvenience and can easily be corrected with training. I would use it again but continue to keep all records for any disputes.
Richmond W | Overall ExperienceThe young man behind the desk was rude, mocking and sarcastic. The office moved location (not updated on the website) and I only found out when I got there and saw a sign. I drove to the new location (which was completely in the opposite direction) and mentioned this to him. He replied that I should have called before leaving my house and that would have saved me a trip in such a mocking and sarcastic tone, I was taken aback. I asked him about a lock (again noted on the website that I had to obtain one from U-Haul) and when I told him the location, again he responded sarcastically that I could just go to Ace Hardware and get one because U-Haul didn't "hand those out". This wasn't the storage location where he was at but another one a few miles away. When I asked if there was a certain kind of lock needed, again his reply was heavy sarcasm. I left, did some more research, found another storage facility with better customer service, a better unit and a better price. When I called the U-Haul office to cancel the unit I rented, I again spoke with this person and his mocking and sarcastic manner was in full force and effect. So, I paid for a month's storage on a facility I never used because I wasn't going to subject myself to this kind of "customer service" ever again. I would like to get my money refunded because I'm so disappointed by this experience and have always used U-Haul in the past for rentals, supplies, etc. This was my first experience with a U-Haul storage facility, and it will be my last. Especially at this location.
