I was very disappointed that I drove 30 minutes from Little Canada all the way to Bloomington with some of our boxes, and got there and had no clue that I needed a lock to open our storage. No one was on-site, of course, as I went there after office hours. But I would have really appreciated a courtesy call from the office that told me what I needed to do before I arrived. So I was very disappointed and although we don't need the storage for now, I will think twice about using U-Haul because of this experience. It is very important to reach out to customers and let them know over the phone that in order to access your storage, you need a key first. Everyone is not aware of this. And I have used the app before to rent a truck and it gave step-by-step instructions on how to access the key and I followed it just fine. But in this case, there were no instructions on the app, neither did someone from the office reach out to see if I had any questions before I came. Matter of fact, I called the storage before I came and asked how would I drive inside the facility and she explained, but she didn't ask if I was a first-timer or anything. This is unacceptable, and we were very disappointed that our first experience with U-Haul storage went this way.
