Rodents destroyed my unit

KEVIN M | First ImpressionsI stored my belongings here for a year after moving out of the old apartment. Everything was packed in nicely and covered appropriately. When getting back into my unit after a year- the unit was covered in mouse droppings. Mice had clearly been on my furniture as everything was covered in mouse droppings. My cream colored sofas were not brown- even underneath the protective covers I had on them. Mice have a way of getting into anything they can. When unloading the rest of my belongings, I had an entire storage container of kitchen supplies. The container reeks of feces and mold. My bowls, pans, plates, tea kettle and silverware (not even all the items) were covered in mold, mites and mouse feces. I am beyond disappointed because I bought insurance and paid extra monthly for my belongings to be covered. Now I may not even receive a dime for all of my belongings because the insurance company doesn’t even speak to you and they make it extremely difficult to get your case through. I will never be storing my items long term again as I’m out at least $1,000 in damages. I expected to be treated as a human being- I guess that was too much to ask.

CARL W | Overall ExperienceFor several weeks, the gate to the actual storage units were left unlocked. This caused concern and I ended up giving away valuable furniture that I felt was at risk if left over this period of time when anyone could have driven into the storage area. No explanation nor refund was provided. The collection calls and letter were stressful. The staff is helpful and I know that they were not responsible for everything.

Jeffrey D | Overall ExperienceI had a very bad experience with Uhaul. My car was put on an auto transport n was done incorrectly which caused damage to my front bumper n the plastic under carriage. I will be filing a damage complaint against Uhaul. My car needs to be fixed. I will never do business with them again.
