Water and bathroom supplies short constantly over 5 years there. Garage use barely available. I'm handicap and wasn't able to use the amenities any longer.

Pictures online showed a clean, spotless load-off area. Actual loading area was dirty, covered with leaves and debris. Loading dock was portrayed as drive-up dock like other U-Haul facilities. Actual dock was too low, and had a bar across entire dock making it impossible to properly use the lift gate on my box truck. When I used the filthy load-off area to unload, the automatic door kept activating and would not turn off. The general manager of the store told me that I was taking too long to off-load, even though there was nobody waiting. When I told him what I thought of his ridiculous policies, he threatened to call the police. I moved my truck and had to cart my remaining stuff (all heavy equipment) across a parking lot with my pallet jack. He also informed me that I would have supervised access to my unit, meaning that I would need to sign in before I could access the facility. I spent the rest of the evening fearing that I would be locked out before I had the chance to move in completely, adding to an already stressful day. Nowhere in my rental agreement does it say that the renter has a specific amount of time to offload. I also suspect that the manager purposely prevented the automatic garage door to open, forcing me to walk to the other loading docks. Thankfully I didn’t need that specific area, but it was a petty thing to do. The “smooth” concrete floors at the freight elevator entrance were NOT, which made it nearly impossible to move my stuff into my unit. The bathrooms were filthy. I tried calling the store before I moved into my units, left a message, and the same general manager never called me back. Instead of trying to help a customer, he never called back. In fact, I didn’t know he was the general manager until he confronted me about taking too long. If the facility was depicted properly and well-maintained, I would have been off-loaded in two hours and back home in seven hours. Instead, I had to stay in Monaca for two nights, had to spend $700 for equipment to overcome the facility shortcomings, and put up with a guy who I would love to see fired. I qualified for one free month for each of my units. Instead, I was only credited for one, and to pay for the lock. The know-it-all kid who booked it for me couldn’t understand, or refused to listen. I just paid for the unit because I need to return my rented truck. I spend as much as thousands of dollars with U-Haul across several states. I can guarantee you that I will go out of my way to book somewhere else for my storage and equipment needs. The freight elevator was great. Every U-Haul facility should have one. Other than that, it was an absolutely HORRIBLE experience. Pictures are available upon request, as well as recordings. I am sure you have your own, so please review them. This is the first of such surveys I have responded to. I am normally too busy, but I made sure to respond to this one.

VIRGINIA D | First ImpressionsQuick in and out. U-Haul needs to bring back the month free of storage. Especially at the cost of a rental. 160$ for 3 hours on a 10 foot and a 9x5 trailer not to mention gas I would also like the Monaca location to have normal pick up trucks. It limits the options and make me pay more to use a hitch when a normal tuck and trailer and a different location when they have a normal truck is about 30-40$ cheaper
