Plainte officielle – Incident grave (séquestration / négligence) À adresser à : U-Haul Succursale : 2000 rue Notre-Dame, Montréal Objet : Plainte formelle – Incident du 10 avril 2026 (enfermement dans un ascenseur) Madame, Monsieur, Je souhaite déposer une plainte officielle concernant un incident extrêmement grave survenu dans vos installations situées au 2000 rue Notre-Dame à Montréal, le vendredi 10 avril 2026 en soirée. 1. Contexte Je suis client chez vous et je loue actuellement deux espaces d’entreposage dans cette succursale. Le 10 avril 2026, vers 21h20, je me suis rendu sur place afin de récupérer des effets personnels dans mes box. 2. Déroulement des faits Vers 22h02, après avoir chargé une première partie dans mon véhicule, je décide de remonter déposer des items restants. J’informe clairement un employé nommé Kevin, présent sur place (portant un casque audio), que je retourne rapidement à mon box pour 2 minutes. Il me répond simplement « OK », sans aucune mise en garde. Je monte alors dans l’ascenseur. 3. Début du problème (blocage) Une fois dans l’ascenseur, mon accès est refusé (« accès interdit ») après avoir passé ma carte. Les portes restent verrouillées côté garage, rendant toute sortie impossible. Seul le bouton du rez-de-chaussée (RC) fonctionne. Résultat : je me retrouve coincé dans l’ascenseur avec un chariot et des objets lourds. 4. Tentatives d’aide (échec total) À 22h10, j’appelle le service U-Haul. L’agente ne connaît pas la procédure et me demande de prendre les escaliers (impossible dans ma situation). Après vérification, elle m’indique que : Mon compte serait “en souffrance” et que l’accès m’est volontairement bloqué. Cette information est FAUSSE. Mon prochain paiement était prévu le 20 avril 2026. 5. Situation critique On me refuse l’accès aux étages en me qualifiant de mauvais payeur. On me confirme que je n’aurai pas accès tant que je ne paie pas. À 22h29, je reçois des messages confirmant ce refus, sans assistance pour sortir. On me dit même “bonne soirée” alors que je suis enfermé. À ce stade, il s’agit clairement d’une situation assimilable à : séquestration négligence grave pression injustifiée (type extorsion) 6. Intervention tardive À 22h33, la responsable du site (Dalia) me contacte. Elle insiste à tort sur le fait que mon compte est en défaut. Elle me tient responsable malgré le fait que : j’ai demandé l’autorisation à un employé cet employé ne m’a donné aucune information Elle ne sait pas comment résoudre la situation. Finalement, à 22h45 (soit ~45 minutes après le blocage) : L’employé Kevin revient m’ouvrir. Il admet : qu’il savait que je pouvais rester bloqué que les procédures ne sont pas respectées par “paresse” Aucune excuse, aucune assistance, aucun suivi. 7. Points extrêmement préoccupants - Mauvaise gestion des accès - Accusation injustifiée de non-paiement - Absence totale de protocole d’urgence - Personnel non formé - Aucun suivi ni excuse - Mise en danger d’un client (problèmes de santé) 8. Antécédents Je précise que ce n’est pas un incident isolé : Mauvaises informations déjà données auparavant Accès bloqué sans raison Gestion inadéquate de la part de la responsable 9. Demande Je demande formellement : Une explication écrite complète Une reconnaissance officielle des faits Des excuses formelles Des mesures correctives immédiates Un dédommagement pour le préjudice subi 10. Conclusion Cette situation est extrêmement grave et inacceptable. Le fait d’empêcher une personne de sortir d’un lieu constitue une atteinte sérieuse à ses droits. Je souhaite régler cette situation à l’amiable, mais je me réserve le droit d’entreprendre des démarches légales si aucune réponse adéquate n’est apportée rapidement. But the employees were very helpful and were able to show me how to access the unit. My suggestion is to add the maps for all floors near the entrances.
