Did not seem to be temperature controlled
Reynold P | Overall ExperienceI would give this U-Haul location zero stars if I could. After driving roughly 1,500 miles, the last thing I expected was to arrive at a storage facility and immediately feel like I was an inconvenience to the staff. From the moment I walked in, the customer service was terrible. The manager appeared rushed, irritated, and completely uninterested in providing a welcoming or professional experience. Several employees seemed more interested in their cell phones than helping customers, and basic manners and professionalism were seriously lacking. I figured out very quickly that this was not a place I felt comfortable leaving my belongings, and I immediately started looking for another storage company. The condition of the storage unit made things even worse. The unit was dirty, the insulation near the bottom was damaged, and the roll-up door was clearly not functioning properly. The door actually came down and hit me in the head. To make matters worse, there were two sticks left inside the unit apparently being used to hold the door open. That is completely unacceptable. A customer should never have to improvise a way to keep a storage door from falling on them. This wasn’t simply poor customer service it was a serious safety concern. I am a retired U.S. Army veteran with a master’s degree in Human Services, and throughout my career I have worked with many different personalities, organizations, and difficult situations. I normally try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but I genuinely struggled to find anything positive about my experience at this location. What stood out the most was the overall attitude. It felt like the staff had dealt with so many difficult customers over the years that they had simply stopped treating new customers with patience, tact, or basic respect. Every person who walks through the door should not be treated like they are already a problem. I also could not help but wonder whether I would have been treated differently if I had walked in wearing a suit and tie instead of arriving tired after a 1,500-mile move. No paying customer should ever be made to feel that way. This location needs major changes. In my opinion, management should seriously consider retraining the entire staff on customer service, professionalism, ethics, and how to treat people with basic dignity. The condition of the storage units and equipment also needs to be inspected immediately. A damaged door falling on someone’s head is not a minor inconvenience it is a preventable accident and a liability waiting to become something much more serious. I moved my belongings elsewhere as quickly as possible, and I am glad I trusted my instincts. I would never use this U-Haul location again, would never store my belongings here, and would not recommend it to my family, friends, fellow veterans, or anyone else.
