How U-Haul Reviews WorkWhen I first took the storage unit I was told that if I moved out weeks before my rent was due that I would get a refund for the remaining term. This did not happen and I was only 1 week into my monthly storage pay cycle. I would have had to move out 1 week prior to save 200. When I canceled my storage unit, I told the clerk that I was there to empty it out and then would be done. The clerk immediately canceled my gate code which caused more waiting around and they gave my wife some attitude when she went in to explain what had happened. Apparently it was out fault that we canceled our storage unit before we emptied it out. I'm not familiar with U-Hauls operations, however, I imagine the clerk working the counter should have foreseen the conflict with the gate code. The facility itself appeared clean, and I would have recommended it if not for the issue with the storage cost not being refunded. Had we not been told when we first got the unit that we would get money back if we moved out prior to our monthly agreement being up then I likely would also be able to recommend. Lastly, we had booked a specific drop off location online, however, the same clerk that cut our access to the gate off could not find it in the system and had changed it to the next closest location. This clerk told us that we were good to drop it off at our booked location even though she couldn't find it in the system. Well, consider us surprised that when we went there they were not expecting a truck. 1 more hour wated having to call customer service to figure it out. This issue is still pending because the office is now closed. While I've used U-Haul multiple times in the past, this has soured my experience somewhat. Regards.
