The cost is misleading: the truck advertises $29.95 + mileage and fees but my total came to $125.00 for just 3hrs use and less than 35kms driven. That to me is misleading advertising. It’s not a bad deal but I wouldn’t mislead customers like that.
Karen Sthe inside if the cab was dirty - never been wiped down and dirt and stone/mud covered the floor surfaces. I had a scheduled pick up time which i arrived for on time however this site operates as a full service gas bar with no building other than a small shed the gas attendant uses- as customers drove in the lone attendant was stressed and had to pump gas while i waited to be processed- a 20 minute delay he had no control over. He had to use inferior technology and a lap top screen that was in a glass booth such that sunshine made it impossible to see- he had to make several attempts due to errors or empty fields he could not see- not fair to staff or clients. The attendant was polite and courteous and did the best he could which i appreciated. There was no opportunity for me to ask questions about driving the truck or functioning checks performed- i had to guess and figure it out which delayed me again- he had to pump gas only after confirming that the additional items i rented were in the rear of the truck. The shocks of the truck should be checked as it felt as if there was none and the truck rode very rough even at very low speeds and yes, i learned how to use the towhaul feature- this was not a factor.
Tawnya RI was charged for things i specifically decided, did not request or receive and feel I was overcharged for gas. Upon calling in with these additional charges that led to a large bill that was put onto my credit card, the representative at the location was friendly to speak to, but informed me that there was nothing he could really do. I was left with a feeling of being very miss led and cheated. I then called U-haul directly to file a claim that now I have to wait to have proven before anything can be done to rectify the additional charges. I was excited to try a new mode of transport for pick ups, and if a simple rental would come to this, I would have never chosen u-haul. The policies that I were explained to me, I feel were not the kind of service that I would expect from a professional company, nor have experienced with any other truck rental company. The site advertises a very different experience and outcome to what I ended up having. I am still awaiting reconciliation for my rental.
