I booked this trailer about 3 weeks ago. I called the day before to make sure all was well, and they said everything was set. About 2 hours later I got a text saying I would have to pick up at a location actoss town. When I went there at my appointment time, they didn’t have the trailer. I asked the lady there if she could find me a trailer in the area. She checked the computer and the original location had 2. So I had to go there and wait almost an hour to get help. They need more employees at this location.

Every uhaul building we go to only has one employee working. It takes almost an hour to pick up and:or drop off a truck. Also customer service at 1-800 number one man was very rude. No employee should tell a customer “what do you want me to do about it” In future it makes me second guess using uhaul

Know the location of your trailers by number. When assigning one to a customer, don't tell them to move their car to the lower lot only to realize the trailer was right next to where they parked originally in the upper lot. Also, check the trailers before assigning them to see if they are working properly. This Should be done when they are returned before re-assigning them. After ours was hooked up, we realized the blinker and brake light wasn't working on one side. We ended up having to unhook it and get a totally different one. Also, air them out and clean them inside after each rental. Ours smelled disgusting. I did express check in online, but from the time I arrived until the time I was out the door with a working trailer it took one hour! Not acceptable when you are trying to meet a deadline to move out of an apartment.

Make sure that when Uboxes arrive on site the renter of the Ubox is notified. My Ubox was delivered here instead of Swannanoa River Road, where I had booked it to be, and I was not informed. Originally I was told that my Ubox would arrive by a particular date and that I would be called when it arrived. I never received a call. Had I, I would have found out earlier that my Ubox was not at Swannanoa River Road and not gone there first!

Other than not getting the dolly we rented, everything worked out great for us! Our representative adjusted my contract so I could get my truck much sooner than my reservation time and that was the most important thing at the moment.

I am not one that typically does reviews. If I have a problem or concern I contact the company directly to speak with a live person. After spending over 15 minutes on hold waiting on customer service to answer my call I decided to go the alternate route. I initially made my reservation on line 7.27.18 for a cargo van to be picked up at the Swannanoa River Rd. Asheville, NC location at 11:30am. Upon arriving at the location I was promptly advised that they did not have my reservation nor a cargo van available. I immediately logged onto my U-Haul account and sure enough no reservation showing on my account. So my first concern is that even though I received an on screen confirmation of my reservation through Uhaul.com no reservation was actual saved in the system. I was then advised that another location did have a cargo van but It was clear across town an a 17 mile round trip. Which not only contributes to another hour of total driving time but also contributes to a larger fuel cost and an additional $13.43 in mileage charges. Upon arriving at the next U-Haul location on Sweeten Creek Road in Asheville and waiting in line approximately 15 minutes to get waited on. I proceeded to give the representative my name, phone number and drivers license. Went through the normal checkout routine only at the end to be advised that my account I had been "flagged" in the system and would not be able to rent any vehicle until the situation was resolved. When I asked the representative what "flagged" meant he joking said it was like the FBI's most wanted......I immediately contacted the number I was advised to call and after some time on the call the representative said that at some point my account had been flagged but he said that there was not any unresolved issues on my account and did not know why the flag was showing. He advised that he would manually remove the flag and I would be able to continue with my checkout process. At this point the representative continues with my reservation and ask how long I would need the truck. I advised at least 4 hours but may be back before that time. He advised that would not be a problem take as long as I needed. So finally at 12:30pm one hour after my initial reservation time at the original location I am on my way. At approximately 3:40pm (3 hours and 10 minutes with the truck) I receive a call which I was not able to answer at the time. Upon reviewing the message, it was the U-haul dealer asking If I was on my way back with the truck and was hoping that I would be pulling in soon as they had another person that was there to rent it?????? 15 minutes prior to my initial suggested return time.If they had the truck rented to someone why did they tell me to take my time and why was I not advised of this prior to leaving? When I utilize U-hauls services I always leave the vehicle as clean if not cleaner than I received it in and with more fuel that advised to return it with. I have used U-haul for a number of years and fo

could not pick up truck when I told them because someone else was given my keys who dropped it into the return box. Customer service could not get in contact with store manager. waited for 90 min only to find out thr key for the drop box was lost. They did finally put me in a different truck, 2.5 hours late. I had a paid moving crew waiting all that time for the truck. Very Very unhappy, then I get hit with an over mileage charge due to where I had to get and drop off truck, not even close to the two locations!!!!

Don't bait and switch equipment. I had a written guarantee two times from UHaul for an auto transport. I ended up with a tow dolly and no apologies. My battery is dead - had to replace it because your broken down tow dolly only had one working light. Also, the wear and tear on my tires is uneven now, which is why I rented the TRANSPORT 17 DAYS PRIOR TO THE MOVE. Not one phone call, email, IM, DM, PM, VM, Carrier pigeon absolutely ZERO communication that we couldn't get our equipment until the day we left. So thank you UHaul, you cost me the price of a new battery $145.14 and new tires - yes, mine you have to replace all 4 at once. You know the costs of things I was avoiding. If I could give UHAUL a MINUS 20 stars - I would. We've received nothing but automated responses. They USED to be a reputable company. Apparently now, bait and switch and damage to customers cars don't matter.

the tow dolly that was assigned to me had very dangerously worn straps. I'm surprised that they were not changed prior to my arrival date. Luckily, there was another tow dolly that they could give me. I would suggest that things like this would be maintained in a more orderly fashion. Just a suggestion!

During one week we had to rent u-haul vans on 2 occasions due to our daughters apartment not being ready when she had to move out of her other apartment. The first visit we reserved the van and the customer service rep was excellent. She knew the process and was very helpful. She deserves a raise. On the second visit, The customer service rep that helped us during this visit had difficulty with the whole process of us renting the 15' Van. She did not have a full understanding of how to complete the process. She repeatedly had to ask the other customer rep to help with each step. The other customer rep was very knowledgeable and helped with completing the process once again. Please give this customer rep more training and the first customer rep a raise and some help. Overall, we liked our experience, the 15'Vans were clean and easy to load and unload. We would highly recommend using U-Haul again.

They only had one person working the worker rented a truck to some people before me and she went out to show them the truck and go over everything with them but then they kept coming back interrupting her as I was trying to get my truck. It literally took 30-45 min before she could work with me! SMH

The location is busy, eemed to be a bit understaffed during peak demand, but wait time wasn’t too long - still deserve a 5-star rating because the service once served was impeccable.
