Everything about drop-off went poorly. I took the truck to the place listed on my contract (Citgo Auburn), the guy that received the truck didn't really seem to know what was going on, but he took the keys to the truck and said I would get an email confirmation of the drop-off within the hour. I asked for a paper receipt or something that would show I actually dropped it off but he wouldn't provide it. I did not get a confirmation of drop-off that day. I dropped it off between 8 & 9 AM. Around 2 or 3 PM that day, I received a call from another U-Haul location in Auburn and the guy snapped at me and said I was supposed to have the truck dropped off to his location 3 hours ago. I get it, he probably had someone trying to pick it up, but it was still a little rude. I explained to him that I had dropped it off earlier that morning at the location on my contract. He was confused as to why they sent me there, but told him the truck should be at his location. At this point I was concerned that they were going to try to say they didn't have the truck and I never returned it. He said he would try to track down the truck and we got off the phone. I didn't hear anything back so I assumed it was OK. Then, the next day, I get a text from U-Haul asking about why I haven't dropped off the truck and that if I needed more time, I should contact them to extend my contract. I called the number and explained to the woman I spoke to what had been going on. She was extremely helpful and said she would contact the store I dropped it off at an have the guy close the contract (which apparently he just didn't do). She was very helpful and friendly. Within an hour of us getting off the phone, I received confirmation that the contract was closed with the correct dropoff location, date, and time noted. So she resolved the situation for me, which I appreciate. All in all though, with the scheduling issue's at both ends, this was mediocre and frustrating experience.

Emily WWhat was supposed to be a $42 rental turned into a $127 rental. First, based on their mileage, we put 23 miles on a 10’ truck. The gas gauge needle barely moved, so I decided I would just let them top it off. Big mistake, they charged me for 7 gallons of fuel at $5/gal. There is absolutely no way they put 7 gallons of gas in it. Next I declined the $15 safe move insurance when I reserved the truck online. Somehow they added it back when they charged my credit card. Lastly, they charged me a $25 cleaning fee. The truck was slightly muddy around the fenders when we picked it up. We drove it 100% of the time on asphalt, and returned it extactly as we received it. This is just a license to steal. I will be disputing these charges with Visa, and I’m waiting to hear from the local manager. I would highly encourage you to look at an actual u-haul store and not this gas station if you are looking in Auburn. Whatever you do, don’t rent from this Citgo.
timothy rAt the drop off location, we were told the system was down and we needed to go to another site. Drove an additional 5 minutes, to find the alternate place was closed. WiFi was very sporadic but finally reached an U-Haul employee by phone that was very helpful. We then had to drive back to the original location to turn in the key. Citgo staff not helpful at all. After moving and cleaning for two days we were exhausted. This was not the way we wanted to end the day.
