My original pick-up location was changed at the last minute, moving me further away from where I needed to be. I had to call and have more miles added to my contract because of the inconvenience. I never thought to ask if there would be an actual human at the new pick up location. Of course, there wasn't. So, the whole do-it-yourself check out experience, which I specifically wanted to avoid by choosing a customer counter check-in, had to be initiated. Had to wait for pitifully slow WiFi to download your app, then do all the picture taking and retrieving of the key only to find, once I got into the truck (which was parked backwards against the flow of traffic, btw) THAT I HAD NO EQUIPMENT. No appliance dolly. No furniture pads. And, most importantly, no actual living human beings to speak to and try and solve my problem. So I finally got some young girl with the personality of a doorknob to tell me that she "called around" to other locations and there was no dolly or pads ANYWHERE in the entire city of Augusta, GA. For the record, she had me hold for about a minute. I don't know what kind of connection she had but it must be lightening fast to have checked numerous locations trying to help me. Don't be silly. She didn't call any other locations. She looked at an inventory spreadsheet, which is likely 100% inaccurate, and decided that was enough work for one disheveled customer. All she offered was, "You'll have to source those items elsewhere, sir. I apologize." I asked if she knew where I might be able to do that but instantly realized how asinine that question was, given her performance up to that point. Helping me locate those items elsewhere would send business (that U-Haul failed to execute in the first place) to another company. We certainly can't have that! Ultimately, all she offered to do was "make sure you don't get charged for items you didn't get." Well, thanks for that. That's some top shelf customer service, if I've ever heard of it. And then she didn't even do that. Once I finally got the apartment on the fourth floor emptied, minus my appliance dolly and furniture pads, I turned the truck in only to find the charges still on the receipt. I guess 'making sure' means something different at U-Haul than it does to the rest of the world that enjoys operating with integrity.

I was told there was going to be a person there. We turned the truck in on the 1st of July and they did not check it in until the 3rd of July. I called the number they had listed and was told they would check it in and anotate the account. Because it was after hours they would check it in on Thurs the 2nd of July. Unprofessional and over charged. No call to me and had my phone number.
Paula VThis location was wonderful. I had lost my phone in the truck not only. Did they find it by doing thorough inspection of the truck after I returned it… They went above and beyond to get it back to me! I’m so incredibly grateful.
Rachel ENo one there, they were working from home. Very vague on where to leave the truck and the drop off app was not working properly. Hopefully I left it in the proper empty lot.
