We had to go to 3 locations to get a clean truck. One of the trucks we rejected looked like it had been used to haul loose gravel. Lots of gravel and dirt. Another had a pile of dirt from a potted plant and lots of trash. We picked up a truck at the third location just before closing. They were friendly and efficient. No reflection on them, but 1 1/2 hours later, now at home and after dark, we got a message from uHaul to confirm the license plate number and any preexisting damage to the truck "within 30 minutes of pick-up." We cleaned the cab before heading on our long drive across the border.. We found 3 old air fresheners hanging in the truck that had coupons on them that expired in 2014. 10 years ago! We had no sense of confidence that the truck had been maintained by uHaul. It turned out to have absolutely no window washer fluid which we discovered in the dark and at the beginning of a lake effect storm when splatter on our windshield could not be cleaned. Good grief. We feel real fortunate that we made it to our destination. Worst UHaul experience we have ever had out of many moves.
