The worker was undertrained and unable to figure out how to check us in, even though we had already completed online check in. Spent over 30 minutes at the computer just trying to get the keys.

Mid-Gard runs a series of U-Haul rental and storage locations in Western N. Carolina. For their own convenience, and in spite of customer inconvenience, Mid-Gard forces U-Haul customers to drop off at remote locations, costing much time (54 miles of mountain driving = 84 min.), The problem is not at all with the specific location rated here. The problem is UHaul policy allowing dealers to refuse to take trailers. It is not like they are packed full, but it is like they prioritize storage business over UHaul business. Never used to be this way.

The representative relented after discussion and allowed us to drop it off.
