U-Haul overall disappointed me. I reserved a 10’ truck in April, to move from Virginia to Michigan in July. Surely, you could’ve found one 10’ truck over a two-month period. But no, 24 hours before my pick-up date I received three changes to my reservation: 15’ truck, at a new location, at a later time. ‘Sorry for the inconvenience.” No, SORRY would’ve been a substantial discount. I had spent a month using the 10’ truck floor plan, measuring my belongings and boxes, and figuring out how to load the truck. I also scheduled friends to come help load the truck. I had 24 hours to reconfigure the entire load, reschedule my friends, and moving plans. Not to mention that the 15’ truck has a lower MPG, so my fuel budget took a hit. So, my pick up time changed from 8:00 to 9:30 to J E Auto, from a more convenient location nearby. I was there at 9:30 and they weren’t open. I called the number given and got voicemail. I phoned a friend who happened to know the operator personally; she gave me his cell phone number. Had I not called his cell phone, he may not have shown up at all. I didn’t have the truck in my possession until 10:30-45. You are a moving company, you must comprehend that people are on a schedule when moving: arranging assistance, loading the truck, hitting the road, hotel reservations en route, etc. “Sorry for the inconvenience.” Is not acceptable, AT ALL.

When I picked up this u haul I walked in and said who I was and I was here for pick up. It felt like an eternity though as I wasnt aknowledged for minute because he was in a conversation with two other guys. That conversation he was having included racial slurs from one gentleman. Glad i didn’t bring anyone inside with me to hear that . Customer service was a 0/10. The truck itself was fine but it felt like it’s about due for an alignment and headlight update because the headlights are not great .

LORRIE THave equipment ready to go. Picked up auto transport in about a foot of snow and the owner of shop told me that he wasn’t supposed to connect equipment but he would help. Then after he connected it he left me in the middle of the snow field not knowing if I would get stuck. Never there again
