We had made a booking several weeks ago for pick up at Windmill Road location in dartmouth. The day before a rep called and started the conversation with "there are no available trucks at windmill road" and my heart sunk - we had a three day itinerary planned around this U-Haul rental. It's weird Uhaul gives you a confirmation number when you book even though it's not confirmed?? Anyway he then proceeds to tell me there is a truck at Cole harbour. - He really should have started with that! That was fine - he said it was open until 9pm (I asked twice and wrote it down) and I could pick it up (this evening) Thurs evening for free (rental was not booked until Fri am) - I said great. Went over around 7pm as we were meeting a lady with a couch at 730pm. The location is closed. They close at 6pm - we are annoyed - so I call UHaul and they guide me through setting up an account on the app which doesnt work so great - cannot get "pick up truck" to work- then I tried on the website and finally it worked. My really big beef is this -- I was told the location was open until 9pm. It closed at 6pm. I could have gone before 6. I was under the gun trying to download the app, take pictures etc as some lady was waiting for us and the truck and I was late due to all the shenanigans. Please have your agents verify the information about the locations. If I had know about the app and my need to use it I would have got it ready. I felt very rushed and flustered.
