The U-Haul office was inside a car detailing business which was pretty confusing. The trucks are parked at a different location than the office. I wasn’t given a walk around of the truck. In addition to that, the milage in the contract wasn’t accurate. Also, the van had a warning for “oil change”. The van contained some garbage which was not cleaned out before hand. Furthermore, when I returned the van, the location did not register it in there system for well over 12hours. I was also charged for additional km that I did not drive but it was refunded once I called U-Haul. This location was extremely unprofessional. I have rented from U-Haul before and it was definitely better than this time. This location was way more interested in their detailing business and they even tried selling that service to me. For all of the inconvenience I feel like U-Haul should be compensating me for this.

Location is confusing as there aren't any u-hauls visible at the address provided. Parking lot where vehicles are parked is challenging to navigate if you're renting a large truck and it's not positioned to drive straight out - it would be a significant improvement if staff backed vehicles in so that renters can drive straight out. Process for returning keys is also very unclear - no one was at the desk, there wasn't a drop box or anyone to notify. I left my key with someone washing vehicles and wasn't sure it would be logged as returned. Also, the text notification to photograph the vehicle before leaving the lot is not helpful. I wasn't paying attention to my phone and had already arrived at my loading point when I saw the message. Give people a heads up that a text message will be sent if you want this step completed.
Christina PI expected the pickup process to take 5 minutes, but due to a combination of factors it took more than an hour. The people at the shop were nice but unhelpful, the app sucked, and the first truck they gave me was missing the mirror. I might never use U-Haul again.
