Not sure if it was a staffing issue from an illness. You simply cannot run a gas station convenience store with a U-Haul side with one person. He was being lazy. Trying to have me download the information to my phone. The connection was horrible since I didn’t have the WiFi from the store. He ended up doing it on his phone. This should have been the initial route to take for proper customer service. Hard to understand. His English was broken. He didn’t read my reservation apparently. I paid for an appliance dolly and a hand truck. He brought me the appliance dolly. I had to ask for the hand truck. One suggestion I would make. It should be policy that rental vehicles should be full of gas and return the same way. To much guessing on if you have put enough gas in to return at the level you received it. Personally feel this is a bad policy.

My comments here are less about the pick-up location and more about the RESERVATION process. I RESERVED a trailer 10-days prior and had a confirmed reservation for a location in Athens, GA. The day before I was to pick it up, I got a call saying they don't have any inventory remaining and sent me 40-miles away to the above pick-up location. I totally understand things happen, but to have a confirmed reservation and then NOT is just unsatisfactory - that's a terrible customer experience. Maybe it shouldn't be a confirmed reservation or put some notes that it is NOT guaranteed! Consumers depend on you and your word (and a reservation) and to not get that is a HUGE let down. I will try hard NOT to use Uhaul in the future.

ROBERT TU-Haul advertises 24/7 Self-Service and encourages use of the app. Having to pickup after hours, the app tells me there is no truck there for us even though we had reserved one. After calling the phone number the app provided, I'm told they will try and find us a truck at another location. We go into the store, which is still open even though it's after hours for H-Haul, and the nice cashier makes a phone call and gets us the key for the truck outside that matches what we reserved. The app does not work like it should.
Linda LThe guy behind the counter was nice. But...We went to pick up our truck on the car hauler. One of the straps had been cut into that cradles the tire to secure the truck. I checked the trailer and he did too. But we didn't check the straps. I will pay attention next time. Luckily we had straps with us because of us moving. The person before us must have not reported the straps or cut them. It's a clean cut.
