Overall, I had a terrible experience with U-Haul today. It’s not because of the person who works at Hasty Mall, but the app and the system in general. First, I tried to check in with U-Haul in advance to save some time, but I couldn’t find the link to that anywhere. Then, I arrived at the location on time and was hoping the check-in process would be completed within 20 min. I was so wrong. It took me almost an hour and a half to gain access to the van. Meanwhile, I have to say, the worker there and the customer service representative I was on the phone with were very kind and patient with my questions. They did a great job. However, the major delay caused by the app and the system glitch was unforgivable! I was able to get the key instantly simply by showing the worker my driver’s license back in Vancouver. I don’t know why it took them like 40 min to give me the key here. On top of that, I was already not happy that my U-Box was delayed for four days, and when I finally drove 40min to access my u-box, the front desk staff at the U-Haul Milton location felt a bit rude. She was super nice and friendly to the Caucasian customer before us, but was cold and honestly a bit impatient when dealing with us. I don’t know what that’s about. My experience with U-Haul this time was by far the worst moving experience ever.

Koki HTerrible experience! I was scammed out of $36. When I picked up the truck, the fuel level was exactly at half a tank (1/2), and I have a photo to prove it. However, in the contract, they falsely noted the fuel level as being higher than half (an extra 1/8 of a tank). Before returning the vehicle, I filled it up to exactly 1/2 a tank—the exact amount of fuel it had when I received it. Despite this, they charged me an extra fee for 17 liters of fuel upon return! This is an absolute rip-off and a scam. I have photographic evidence of the initial fuel level. Avoid this location if you don’t want to be overcharged for gas you didn't use!

Kristopher BHere’s a more polished and professional version of your review: I visited this location to pick up a U-Haul that I had reserved for 4:00 a.m. Unfortunately, the employee working at the time had no idea how to complete the pickup process on their end and had to call their manager for assistance. The manager who spoke to me over the phone was extremely rude and arrogant. He acted as though he was doing me a personal favor by providing the U-Haul at 4:00 a.m., even though I had made a legitimate reservation. I explained to him that providing customer service is part of his job, especially as a manager, and that being rude and dismissive toward customers is unacceptable. He repeatedly stated that he was “doing me a favor” by giving me the truck. I responded that if customers are considered a burden, then the location should not advertise 24-hour U-Haul availability. The way he spoke to me was disrespectful and unprofessional. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this location, especially for late-night or early-morning pickups. It does not appear that they have adequately trained staff to handle overnight reservations. On a positive note, the employee working during the day shift when I returned the U-Haul was very helpful, knowledgeable, and professional.
