If I could give this a negative rating, I would. What an awful experience. I was rented a dangerously unsafe truck, with a transmission line that fell apart while driving on the interstate. This led to a complete engine failure forcing me to attempt to guide my smoking truck off the highway. It then took four hours for Uhaul to arrange a fix—which was a haphazard replacement of the part on the side of the road—all while I waited by the van (which was partially blocking a lane) loaded with the entire contents of our house. This fix enabled the van to move along at about 35-40 miles an hour, which caused us a further 2 hours of delay. And to top it off, Uhaul insisted I drive the unsafe van back to the place I had rented it from, despite its obvious non-road worthy condition. Both during and after this incident, Uhaul’s customer service response was completely unprofessional—that is, it was impossible to get in contact with an actual person on the phone. Uhaul also did not bother to follow up with a call. All and all, don’t rent here.

Thomas WThe 10' truck I rented did not have a ramp, which proved to be a serious issue given the weight of the items we were moving that day. Since there were no other trucks available to rent that day I had to take it. However, would seriously appreciate your consideration for a credit for that. A ramp is standard equipment for a U-Haul rental so I did not get everything I paid for that day.
