I called customer service to set up my reservation: I had to repeat several times which location in Freeport, Illinois that I wanted to reserve a Cargo Van at. She eventually go the location and address correct...HOWEVER, once I arrived to the agreed upon location (and I have a reservation receipt with the Name and Address Location I reserved) the Uhaul location state they did not have my reservation at all. I had to drive several miles to the next location where they had my reservation in their system, even though I had not made the reservation with them. I was then told that the other Uhaul location never has Cargo Vans. I waisted 30 minutes on my trip to pick up a rental Van. I was on a time frame. This is the SECOND time this has happened with Uhaul in the past month. I believe I need to be compensated for the stress and loss of time, and travel. Julie Lamm

Cynthia KWhile the local rep was very kind and patient, he was not able to take care of the sudden price increase from our quoted rate of $1,505 to $2,200. Thankfully, I had taken screen shots of my reservation number and price. We had to wait there 1.5 HOURS while he called “corporate” to resolve this huge price increase. We also experienced numerous problems with the drop off location that was printed on our rental agreement. The first location was unable to accommodate 26 foot trucks and a toy hauler. We were told to drive over 30 minutes to a second location, only to find out that they could not accommodate 26 foot trucks and a toy hauler. At this point, we weee directed to a third location and had to put more gas in the trucks, at our expense and due to U-Haul’s error. By the time we got to the third location, the facility was closed and the return link provided to us did NOT work. Thankfully, there was an employee on site who was just moving around vehicles, while the office was closed, and he told us to put the keys in the drop box and he would check the two 26 foot trucks and the toy hauler in. I believe he did, because I received email confirmation receipts verifying the return. Such inexcusable errors on U-Haul’s part is a huge inconvenience to their customers and it also delays their receiving their vehicles back in a timely manner. This is a CORPORATE issue, a software and management issue and is NOT a reflection of the local businesses.
