It was not the locations fault. We had rented a 15 foot uhaul for the week before to be picked up on a Sunday. We were traveling in from a different state to pick it up and hotel reservations in the town. On Friday afternoon we got a call that they only had a 20 foot available, they offered it for the same price, unfortunately it was to large to get around the tight turns up our road and drive way so had to decline. Fortunately we had not left home yet and were able to reorganize our schedule and the hotel was nice enough to cancel our reservations without a charge (3nights). We rebooked for the next weekend. I called ahead on Friday for the Sunday pick up. Again we had hotel reservations and I had to get coverage again to take care of my aging mother. They said they did not have a 15 foot available from the 10th ave site but could get one from frontage road but they would be closed. I asked if the equipment I had requested along with the packing supplies I had already been charged for would be there and they said yes so we agreed. They send me pick up information along with a video on how to access the keys to the truck. We arrived in Great Falls earlier than expected on Saturday so I call uhaul to see if we could pick it up early and they said that would be okay... the location was closed but I had already reviewed the pick up video on line. There was only a 20 foot in the parking lot and there wasn't a lock box as describe on the video to access the key. We contacted uhaul... I believe in Billings and she tried to walk us thru how to access the box but there wasn't a box, only 3 locks attached to the pole, no key. After over about an hour of communication they located the manager of the facility and she came in to help us. She said she had not been notified of the pick up. She did have a 15 foot available and bought it around. I told her we had paid for a hand truck and blankets. There was a hand truck in the 20 foot that she gave us but we discovered after we left it was the small one, not the larger on we had requested and been charged for. She found some blankets for us but my packing supplies had not been delivered and had been refunded. I had to go to the 10th ave site and purchase them there again. They did not have the hand truck we wanted in stock and we had bought our own which was actually bigger. We were not refunded for that. The truck was dirty in the cab, my husband actually had to wash the inside of the windshield to see clearly. Not sure where the breakdown in communication occurred but feel we were very fortunate that the dispatcher and the manager were able to help us out. Overall it took about 90 minutes to pick up the truck. Not a good experience!
