The equipment/bag was torn and not attached on the dolly. Didn't have the security straps on both of them when I picked it up.

The only downside is the pickup location It’s impossible and dangerous to take the required pictures on mobile app without moving the van. The parking spot is about 8 ft from an active roadway. Same with the return. Thats the only concern.
GEORGE PIt was interesting to me that there is no one on site — employees of Hawaii Collision Center (HIC) — who could have helped me with this rental. There was a 9' Cargo Van at the location, evidently available for rent (as I was able to eventually confirm), but it was not showing available on the app. The HIC employee informed me that he/they don't do anything with/regarding the rentals and everything has to be done online or via the app. Fortunately, the area manager (Jason Mones) was outside near the vehicles, servicing them, and was extremely helpful. (That is how I was able to confirm that the van was available to rent and he helped me rent it.) Had Jason not been there however, that HIC employee was of no help and this rental would not have happened. Not sure what UHaul's agreement with HIC is, but it might be worth adjusting so as not to lose rentals like mine. While my experience was excellent, it would have been the polar opposite if Jason had not been there and so I'm not sure, without some adjustments, I would recommend this location to others.
Amy KIt was fine, although being able to leave your car while you rented the truck would have been good. The truck roof leaked, so that wasn't ideal, as it damaged some of my stuff. Also the hand truck seal had already been broken by the previous person and it wasn't re-sealed - I presume I won't get charged for it, but still.
JAMES GThe self serve pickup experience was horrible. No service representative on site so had to do the checking online. Took over 1/2 hour to figure it out. Very frustrating. And the drop off was no better having to do online drop off and take photos and follow the steps which took another 20 minutes. The lockbox was difficult to get into as the key wedged the door closed. Took a bunch of shaking to finally get the key. The worst U-Haul experience ever. Highly suggest a person in place to do the checking online in and drop off as this experience was horrible, a waste of time, and no savings by going people less from past experience. A big fail on U-Haul part.
