I don’t think this is a good location to pick up a U-Haul truck .. they have little space to park them which is the back of the store AND when we went to pick up the truck … they did not have any furniture dolly’s or blankets to rent available at the store!! ! Also … it’s a small convenience store in a shady area of the city and my partner and I did not feel safe returning the truck there in the dark after 9:00 pm as the trucks had to be parked behind the convenience store in a poorly lit parking area which looked like a area for criminal activity….When we backed the truck up, we had to back it onto the street which again was not safe!!We did not see a key drop off box as it’s simply a small store … the store clerk was nice to us and friendly but the store had a weird smell in it … I don’t feel that this convenience store is modern and updated enough to house U-Haul trucks.. The store clerk was friendly though but he forgot to ask or add my boyfriend as a designated driver. Due to a change of plans with me having exhaustion due to moving and stress , a huge lack of sleep and financial difficulty, I got my boyfriend to add his payment information and got him to drive the truck to do the move properly for me. The clerk took his payment information, handed him the key but failed to add him as a designated driver. When I tried to add my boyfriend as a designated driver upon making the reservation online… there were also technical difficulties and incomplete information so I could not add him as a designated driver at that time but he was added as a emergency contact. On the day of the truck return … which was Victoria Day and a holiday … we had issues getting a hold of anyone at the store since hours must of changed and we could not get any answers at the 1-800 number posted for Uhaul to find out where we had to drop off the truck… … we were later told the next day after seeing a huge fee added to the return invoice for dropping off to wrong location , that the online system was down as well as the call centre ….we are politely asking that the $265.75 ridiculous fee for wrong drop off location be credited back to my boyfriend’s method of payment as soon as possible…my boyfriend has furniture Dollie’s rented at the Trinity Drive location and assumed it was better to drop the truck off there after hours on Monday , the holiday as the uhaul locations all closed early or were not even open !! Again the store clerk was nice though but not all information was properly given or explained… I feel that location is not acceptable for a uhaul company to allow trucks to be picked up there … that was the only location that was given to me online for that truck size and for that day….. I want to see uhaul improve their pick up locations and not charge such huge “drop off to wrong location fees” and only choose major modern well lit parking lots to house their rental trucks!

The truck front bumper was damaged, the interior had hair and was dirty, the dashboard had check engine light on and the truck was almost on empty.
