They rented me a trailer almost 2,000 pounds over my vehicle AND hitch capacity. Was really dangerous & now my car is shifting & braking improperly. If the transmission is bad (going in shop in 2 days to confirm). I will be contacting your legal team. The safety chains did not even connect bc my openings were too small. I asked the guy several times if this was safe n he assured me it was borderline, but totally fine or system would have flagged it!!!! I was very hesitant but trusted his judgement. He said just dont drive far!!!. When i dropped it off, a different guy was horrified he rented me that & let me drive so dangerously. My hitch literally bent when he winched it off at dropoff. I was horrified. My transmission is acting up now. Dropped off today. My brakes arent stopping good. U-Haul negligence caused all of this!!! If shop on fri says any damage at all, i will contact your management & legal team for reimbursement. Myself, or an innocent bystander could have been killed by uhaul’s negligence. No excuse when he literally knew it was wayyy over capacity n didnt warn me. Said itd be fine. My suspension is also very bumpy now. Damage!! That is very scary he sent me down the rd without even safety chains connected properly w such an overloaded weight. I have no faith in the future i will be renting safe & appropriate equipment. Ive rented from y’all countless times. Never again!!!!!

JOSEPHINE LWhen we arrived to pick up the truck, I was told my reservation was for a 26’ truck 🛻 instead of a 10 ft truck and charg d me for a 26ft truck.Luckily I had the receipt on my phone, that showed I ordered a 10 ft truck. Then I was told there were no 10 ft trucks and that I’d have to take and pay for a 15 ft. truck. Then the manager stepped in and said that yes, they did have a 10 ft truck for me. The first guy had already reversed my transaction for the 26 ft. truck and now charged me for a 10 ft., however he said that he first charge wouldn’t be erased from my checking account for 5-7 days! Fortunately that turned out not to be true because when I checked my bank account on my phone app, the first transaction was already being reversed, otherwise I wouldn’t have had enough $ in my account to cover both charges. We had driven 2 hours to pick up this truck to clear out a storage unit and we ended up being in the rental office for over an hour, which really m shed up our schedule to empty the storage unit and drive it back to Sumter 2 hours away. I asked if I could be compensated for all the time it took and the inconvenience to which the clerk said, “sorry, he didn’t think so”. I asked him to go down and ask the manager who was handling another customer, who said, “Yes, of course! “. So, they took a % off my bill, which I felt was fair. They all apologized for the confusion and we ended up with the right truck at the right price, so all ended well, but caused unnecessary stress and time out of our day.
