Customer Reviews

This location has a staff that is knowledgable, experienced and very efficient! Without a reservation, they set me up with the right truck, packing materials and instructions very quickly. I was on the road in a short time and as soon as I returned the vehicle, I was met in the parking lot and processed out within minutes. If only all businesses ran as professionally as this one!

The truck was very dirty inside and out. The outside of the truck was filthy and I personally had to wash all the windows myself!! Inside the cab was also not clean, it had a bad smell to it(like dirty sweaty socks) and just felt "unclean". I did not want to touch anything!! I also purchased a dozen packing blankets and they too were very dirty. One of them was unusable, it was wet and smelled moldy. They all had to be shaken out. I paid extra money for those packing blankets and was very upset on how dirty they were. I was very disappointed with how filthy everything was.

I live in Alpine which is pretty far from this location. I don't know why Uhaul always sends me here when we have locations in Alpine. I reserve online. However, this place is efficient and I have never had a problem.

Make sure they no what they are talking about. They need to stop pressuring me to sign everything sight unseen. It's skeevy and I'm never doing business with them again. Also there was gum on the dolly I was given.

Great, helpful, organized both picking up and dropping off

The sales guy was friendly, well spoken and Explained everything. UNLIKE paytons hardware in lakeside 92040 which was the first place we went.

This U-Haul operation is from a discount liquor. It is one thing to wait for another U-haul customer to get waited on but every person coming in at 8 am to buy beer, hard alcohol, cigarettes or Energy drinks took priority over U-Haul patrons. The solo employee could not decipher the number of days that my reservation called out or where the the truck was being dropped off. With a lengthy explanation of my reservation, he said I was to return the truck 2 days earlier than reservation indicated, but would give me an extra 2 days for free to make it all work. Due to receiving a call from the closest pick up point, the night before my pick up, that the 26' truck would not be available at their location the next morning at 8 am, I would need to drive an extra 18 miles to pick up the truck at this liquor store location. The consultation was an extra 100 miles at no charge. This had no value to me, due to my total mileage was still under the original est. mileage. When I asked the employee if i could return the truck to the original location closest to me, he said no. Although I did get the truck I reserved, it ended up costing me more than was on the reservation. As he handed the key to me and a graph showing the truck needed to be returned with a quarter of a tank of fuel, I asked if we were going to look over the truck for any damages that might exist that would not be my responsibility. He told me to check it out and let him know if that was any areas that did not have little "X's" near them. When I returned with some non-marked areas of damage, he just asked how many there were and tore off that many "X's" and told me to place them on those spots...Really? When I dropped off the truck at the liquor store, the same employee started the engine to check the mileage and fuel level, then told me the fuel was not at the level it was when I picked up the truck, until I showed him the paper with the fuel level at pick up. After returning to the liquor store, he refused to accept the truck because he said that the truck was supposed to be a one-way not a return to his location, and I was 2 days late. This prompted me to call U-haul, where I was told everything was good and would be taken care of for just under $4,000. My contract was for under $1,200. Finally that was all worked out with U-haul and they called the liquor store employee, which would leave me a $0 balance. When I returned to the liquor store to confirm all was good, I was told except for the fact that I was returning the truck 30 min. late, at the time, although I started all this at the exact time that the return was supposed to be. How many ways can someone working for U-haul try to make an undeserved extra buck? Either this U-haul location does not deserve to be part of the U-haul company, or U-haul doesn't care to have my business. This was the 2nd time I rented a 26' truck from U-haul in the past 5 months. If this experience had been the 1st, there would not have been a

Both guys checking in, and checking out were excellent. Highly recommended..
