Transmission failed on the drive. Brakes or in the process of failing. Even a slow application of the brakes would periodically yield a catch that would cause the vehicle to respond as if the brakes have been slammed on. Had to get a replacement vehicle. Technician surveyed the initial vehicle said that it is clear that no one had made any effort to maintain the vehicle. All the fluid levels were low. The fact that a vehicle like this was put on the road is negligent behavior. I will be demanding a refund come Monday morning.

Crook and liar
Jeremy Smake sure you take pictures of the fuel gage and the milage, and a parameter of the truck so they can't claim damage. This location did not look at the milage or gas gage before handing us the keys.
