Had no idea it was gunna be at a car shop, not an actual U-Haul place. Went but no one was there, by chance the owners friend pulled in about 20 mins later, I’m sure it was for something else but the poor guy helped us anyway. Took about an hour to get the key between this friend of the owner and haul support. Really would’ve appreciated uhaul giving me a heads up prior to showing up that I wasn’t picking up this truck from an actual uhaul place but what do I know. I’ve never done this before and they literally booked the reservation for me over the phone, proceeded to have someone else’s move info under my reservation and my info under someone else’s. Proceeded to call about 6 different times to get that situated but you’d think maybe somewhere in all those 6 calls I would’ve gotten a heads up, especially considering I had to walk through different people every time of what the situation was and still even outside of that experience I wasn’t even told to have a truck for movers that they contract out through moving companies. Which that’s fine however, you’d think if I booked a truck for 24hours and I specifically said when making this reservation “can I get a truck to move my boxes for one day and then the next day get movers to move my heavy furniture” they’d at least let me know I’d need a truck or maybe ask me if I plan of using the same one?? Or maybe that’s too crazy i don’t know but from top to bottom this experience has been absolutely horrendous, but the friend-of-the-owner guy at the auto shop was definitely my only savior in any of this 🙏🏻
