This truck quit 2 miles down the road. We did not get it to our home to load. Roadside assistance took nearly 3 hrs to arrive. By the time they deemed the vehicle unfixable, all other local U-Haul locations were closed. We were require to have our things out of the house we sold that night. Our stuff sat outside on the side of a Mtn road overnight until we could get a replacement. My son slept in his car to keep an eye on our stuff. Also, the roadside assistance guy had my son limp the truck back to the location with him following to fix it if he broke down. He then left my son at that location without a way to get back to our home. I called and spoke with the store manager who couldn’t do anything but say “this is common with U-Haul trucks”. I was on the phone for hours with roadside assistance and scheduling to try to make something else work. This cost me a lot of money to try to find other solutions, in addition to the mental stress on an already stressful day. I would like compensation as this was a shitshow from the start and impacted not only me but my family and the buyer of our home.

The attendant at the counter was friendly and very helpful. Many Kudo's for making the process seamless The interior was very clean as was the storage area. The exterior was dirty. Road tar on driver's side, dirty glass and generally unwashed. This did not detract from the experience, but for a new truck with 10,000 miles, it would cause me concern when considering overall vehicle maintenance The truck handled very well

PETER JI actually had to drive past the original place I reserved, and the parking lot was chocked full of the trucks that I reserved, and you accepted the reservation, I had to drive an extra 10 miles an a dollar a mile because you grifters switched the location on me. Later that same day, I again drove past the very same lot, and imagine my surprise when i counted at least 5 trucks in my class collecting dust in the lot. I was not given a choice, take it or leave it, as Seinfeld famously said, you take reservations but you don't honor them, which is why you take RESERVATIONS. seems like you are just padding your profit, but scamming me at the last second.
KIRK BThis is the first time using U-Haul, and it was the worst experience I have ever had! When I contacted the location directly and asked questions, I was misled towards renting the vehicle from their location and dropping it off to another location without any extra charges. When I drop the vehicle off at the drop off location, there was a charge five times the amount I had anticipated. I’m still waiting to hear from a regional representative to get this taken care of.
