The Coop fuel attendant filled the tank with gas when I told him I needed 30L. I was sad that I could not recover that cost. If I had driven more than the required mileage, U-Haul would have charged me extra. But when I left more gas/fuel than required, I did not get a refund. If they want, they can build in a tech to estimate gas levels and refund customers.
