Despite registering in advance it took 15 minutes to verify my info at the pick up. Then finally got the truck and there was broken glass all over the inside of the cab. Inside back of truck was also very dirty. I was already pissed off since my pick up location was moved 15 miles further away from where I needed to be. This was despite being told that I would receive a call the night before letting me which of the two locations near me I would pick up at. The Norwich location was not one of those 2. Overall a terrible experience.

Checked availability before I went to locatin. When I got to the location I was told no trailers where available. Was told to go to another location. Checked availability online in the parking lot and what I needed was guaranteed available or get $50. Walked back into store and showed them the availability online and asked should I reserve online and collect my $50? Thats when the employee decided to actually check their system. It was available. Did they just not want the business? Too lazy to process a rental?

I had reserved the vehicle at the Ace Hardware location however they didn't have my reservation in the computer. It was confusing and frustrating. It was never resolved but they had what I wanted. After we had picked up the van a received a call from the Gold St. locations asking if I still wanted the van. I was confused. When I made the reservation I was very careful to choose the location that was familiar with. The confusion was the only annoying part about this experience.

Reserved a trailer and appliance dolly. When I arrived I was told the appliance dolly was already rented out earlier that morning. Was asked if I needed assistance hooking up the trailer (which I didn't) and was told to look for the unit number on the trailer for mine. Just figured they would want to make sure I wasn't towing with something other then I was, that it was hooked up properly, etc... In and out quickly, no issues with trailer.

Confirm availability of equipment. I did not get the truck or dolly ordered. The previous renter was late returning the vehicle and I had coordinated help at a specific time based on my rental. After taking a smaller truck (their only offering at my reservation time) I was then told they also didn't have the dolly I had ordered. Or any equipment in fact. It was all out . . . . Moving is very stressful. I expected this rental to make it easier not create additional stress. Customer service at the location was fine.

The location service was fine but i am extremely disappointed with the uhaul call center and customer service. They were extremely rude and unhelpful and I will unlikely be using uhaul in the future.

The bumper was falling off the front is the truck when we picked it up and the truck was clearly not swept before we got it.

The person who rented the van before us parked it in a far corner of the parking lot, essentially hidden from view. When we arrived to pick up, the location called the prior renter to ask why she had not returned the van. She said she had and directed them to far corner of parking lot. So the location did not have time to clean the van before we got it. I think it would have been helpful if they called the prior renter before our scheduled pick up time to find out why the van had not been returned, rather than waiting until we got there. Because if the van had actually not been returned we would have been up a creek in terms of our scheduled move.

We were treated courteously. The staff at ACE was friendly and helpful. We are elderly and were treated respectfully. If the need arises we will rent from them again, and surely recommend them to our friends and family. Just keep doing what you already do.
