This person has no idea what they’re doing and doesn’t have any system in place to properly clean, maintain, and park the trucks and trailers. They expect the customer to do it all and then tell you they’re by themselves and they can’t drive the trucks. So it’s the customers fault that you aren’t properly running your location and have the knowledge to properly maintain and park your equipment on your own lot. Terrible experience
THOMAS ROriginally I called and they didn’t answer, so I called again and they barely spoke English but said they weren’t accepting any new trucks. I told them my drop off was at their location and then they figured out I was supposed to drop off there. When I showed up there was no good place to drop off the trucks and the owner was there by herself with her kids. She said she can’t drive the trucks and that I need to park and drop off my trailer properly. It was ridiculous. I’ve used uhaul around 10 times and I’ve never been told that I’m the one that needs to move THEIR equipment around and professionally park it when I’m not practiced in backing up trailers. She fought me on this and said she is by herself and no one can park cars at her location today or tomorrow. I wish I would’ve just left the truck and trailer where I parked it and left but I had to take on the liability of parking it and dropping off the trailer in a particular spot when every other place I’ve ever been to they’ve put the trucks through their own cleaning regimen and parked them where they wanted them. It was insane. It was as if she didn’t understand how uhaul worked or that she ran a location
THOMAS ROwners were very accommodating and friendly
Derek TUpon return of the vehicle, the UHaul personnel became very combative with us. She was extremely rude and told us we had to back the truck into the space since "I am a woman! I cannot do that." We explained that all other trucks were parked facing forward so we did the same. She remained combative and continued to "bully" us into backing the truck into the space because "I am a woman!" We finally moved the truck as requested. Then she proceeded to be combative about whether the blankets were all returned to their plastic bags. We explained the bags were vacuum sealed and not reusable. Regardless, because of the heavy rain that day, the blankets were damp. They shouldn't be placed in a plastic bag or they would mildew. She said it "is your job to fold all the blankets then." We explained they were not folded but laid open so they could dry. To fold them could also cause mildew/mold. Again, very combative that it was our job to fold them and if we did not, she would charge us $25. She said "I am a woman! And I will not do this!" We explained again that if we folded them, we would be charged for the mildew, so we were going to leave them as-is so they could dry. After we left, our sister's credit card was charged $36 as a "cleaning fee." This charge was never disclosed prior to charging, no details were provided as to the cleaning fee to be completed and so this is an unauthorized charge. It was done in retaliation for the blankets and the truck parking. This charge needs to be credited to the card on file for the reservation or my sister will dispute with her credit card company. Finally, this woman spoke very poor English. Her 8 year old son was attempting to translate throughout all this yelling, bullying and threatening dialog. She also had a baby on the floor behind the counter that distracted from the service being provided. If she is an employee that is managing daycare of her children, unable to speak the language, unable to perform her duties in the role because she is a woman and unable to conduct herself professionally, she should not be allowed to represent UHaul. We have rented many trucks over the years, as has my sister, and we have never experienced such outlandish and poor service like this. We expect a member of management at UHaul to contact my sister at the email address on the reservation to address this fraudulent charge.
