How U-Haul Reviews WorkFirst of all, this place is in the absolute hood. If you have to go in the store, you’re at immediate risk of getting lung cancer. But don’t bother, because there is nobody in there to help you. I showed up early for a 9:00 rental and was told they don’t open until 10:00. So I had to jump through all of the hoops to do a “just show up” rental. The instructions for how to get the key are confusing and buried a page or so down in the email. Then you get to walk around the parking lot trying your key in every truck because there is no clear marking of the truck number. I never did see a truck number, I just tried the key in every door until I found one that it unlocked. And remember that I’m doing this IN THE HOOD! Then you get in the truck, drive five miles down the road, and the low fuel light comes on. Well, you say, it says in the contract that I need to check the fuel level. Contract? What contract? You mean the one that was sent to me while I’m walking around the parking lot trying the key? Fuck that. Fill the damn truck up before customer arrives and needs to be somewhere on time. I have never gotten into a rental truck with no gas in it. When I return the truck with way more fuel in the truck than it had in it when I got in it, there is nobody at the store - still-to talk to. The cancer agent gives me a slip of paper with the manager’s name on it while he puffs smoke in my face and tells me to text him. Again, fuck that, but I did text. I was told I needed to provide a photo of how much gas the truck had in it when I dropped it off. Fuck that! I’m not his administrative assistant. Either have somebody on site to manage rentals or stop renting trucks.
Valerie VThere were closer locations that we drove past to get to the drop off. Which again, should not be the standard. Just to make you hauls, life more convenient.
Joseph FI was told I would receive a call from a U-Haul representative to talk about my reservation but no one ever called. Then you guys changed my reservation location without my consent and I didn't notice, so when I arrived at the pickup location, they didn't have my reservation. This location also doesn't have an actual U-Haul representative so I had to call the representative on the phone and fill out basically an entirely new reservation over the phone. I was also forced to take a 15 foot truck when I only wanted 10 feet. Then I was given the wrong truck so when I had to submit the pictures and mileage, the numbers were so off that it made me go back to talk to the customer representative. This turned what should have been a 5-minute pickup into a 45-minute pickup. Then to cap it all off I was charged $24 for gas after having only driven 22 miles.
