I had a really poor experience with U-Haul both picking up and dropping off the truck. First of all, my rental location was changed from Eatontown to Red Bank without my consent AND without letting me know. I went to the address that was in the confirmation email, which was the one I selected intentionally in Eatontown. Once I was there the option to pick up truck through the app was not working. I used the chat through the app to find out I had to the other location. Between going to the “wrong” location and waiting to get a hold of someone, it was a big waste of time and it delayed my plans. Once I got to the location I had to contact U-Haul anyways through the phone which was another 10 min hold because the app was not working and it would not get me to the lock box code part. I had to get the code through the phone. The truck was in good condition but had only 1/4 tank of gas and the dolly I reserved ahead of time to move was no there. Since there is no one onsite i couldn’t do anything about that. The car console doesn’t really work correctly, the only option was to have the AC at full blast the entire time since if you tried to switch to LO it just wouldn’t work. The return was not easy either. When I came back to the location, the app would not activate the “return my truck” option correctly. I had to wait again to get a hold of someone who asked me to try a bunch of things regarding my location. However I was only a few feet away from the U-Haul lockbox. I was then advised to try using the web browser instead of the app and that worked. Overall I had a really poor experience from beginning to end. Luckily I did not have to go far and my plans were able to accommodate the multiple U-Haul delays and change of location

Truck didn't start, then the battery died again l. I had to walk from uhaul to storage unit to get car . I had to keep truck running so battery wouldn't die and they charged me fuel fee.
MEGHAN RI made reservations two weeks prior. An hour before picking up the rental truck, I was called and told they didn’t have it. Extremely frustrating experience.
Nicholas CThe associate at the desk was very knowledgeable and polite. He was also very cheery and upbeat and extremely helpful. Hire more people like this guy. The only negative in this transaction is the uhaul app is very slow.
