Upon pick up, the owner of the business was adamant and pushy that I return the U-Haul to his location despite me explaining that I was contacted by a U-Haul employee asking me to return the U-Haul to a different location in Red Deer. I asked if he could contact U-Haul himself to clear up the confusion so I knew where to drop it off at and he told me that was my issue and that I had to drop it off at his business so I listened to him and tried to drop it off at his location Sat afternoon only to be told by him that U-Haul over rode the system and that it was up to me to get the U-Haul to the other drop off location. Now on to the U-Haul truck itself. I’ve likely rented U-Haul trucks for 6 moves in the past 6 years - a lot of moves for sure - however I’ve never been supplied a rental in such poor mechanical shape and dirty. The interior was dirty with mud stains on the passenger side dash and gross in the cup holder areas. But now on to the most frustrating issue - the transmission. This truck shifted so poorly and rough that the engine would rev to max rpm’s and when it would finally shift it would push me and my passenger forward in our seats almost every time and I had to let off the pedal just to try and get a softer shift from the engine. The frustrating part is this wildly rough shifting resulted in damaged property of mine when I got to my new home. Like I said, I’ve rented uhauls about 6 times and have never had a dirty and poorly mechanically maintained truck like this nor have I ever had a move that resulted in damaged items like this one. Lastly, I politely explained to the business owner from the original pick up point that the truck could use a servicing and cleaning and asking how old the truck was, I was met with a laugh from him and a total blow off on the condition of the truck. I even explained that the box of the U-Haul was dirty and had property left in it from the previous user. Again, he laughed and shrugged it off and then told me I had to return the U-Haul elsewhere because U-Haul over rode him. He seemed frustrated without zero consideration at the inconvenience to me having to now go to a separate location across the city because he was so adamant that I drop the U-Haul back off at his location which resulted in my pick up driver also having to drive across the city to an alternate location because this business owner said I was not allowed to drop the U-Haul off anywhere else but his location. All in all, I’d never recommend his business again and I’d likely never use U-Haul again if this was my first experience with the company.

John DIt's an auto repair shop. The fellow who owns it is very personable but the shop is not what I would call "inviting".
Laura GSam at north store is very efficient. The trailer was perfect. An employee hooked me up safely. Very impressed.
