I made a reservation online for a 7am in person pick up of a van. When I arrived, the store was closed although the sign on the door stated it opened at 7am. After an hour of calling multiple U-Haul customer service numbers, I was told the store employee overslept or might not be feeling well so no one was available to open the store. Finally a regional person called me and gave me the combo for a mobile pick up. The only key available in the lock boxes was for an old 10 foot box truck, which is not what I reserved or wanted. This truck had nearly 90,000 miles on it, smelled heavily of cigarette smoke, was filthy, and did not have a usb port for a phone. It was loud and big and a huge departure from the newer van I often rent. It was nearly 9am before I was able to get on the road. Two hours late to my client appointment. Several clients cancelled that day due to the delayed schedule. I lost income and wasted my time because an employee could be bothered to come in on time and open the store. I am terribly disappointed and dissatisfied.
