Overall, a very smooth experience. The truck and equipment were ready and well prepared at pickup, and everything functioned as expected. The only improvement I’d suggest is an update to the U-Haul app to better reflect location type and after-hours pickup instructions. During mobile check-in, the app instructed me to go to the window to retrieve the keys, but this location is mobile-only with no on-site office. I spent some time looking for a window and even checked with a nearby business before learning there was no staffed office at this location. This doesn’t appear to be the fault of the local U-Haul owner — the issue seems to be with how the app communicates key retrieval at mobile-only locations. Once I called the phone number posted on the signage, the representative was very responsive and quickly helped resolve the situation. With clearer in-app instructions for mobile-only or after-hours locations, this would have been a perfect experience.
