The online check-out experience was a disaster. I'm appalled that your app is so inadequate for the task. I couldn't upload the required photos at pickup, which made it impossible to proceed. I spent 30 mins trying to deal with that, and then tried calling the U-Haul number. I was told the wait for help would be 20-30 minutes. I didn't have that time to wait. I eventually logged in to the web version of your site, and the checkout had somehow been completed. I wasted 30 minutes trying to take the pictures for nothing. On top of that, the dollies I'd requested were nowhere to be found, and since I was picking up the truck outside of business hours, there was no one to talk to. I won't be using U-Haul again. I've had problems with every single rental over the last 20 years, but like an idiot, I keep using your company thinking that this time it will be better. It never is. If it's not confused staff, it's a broken-down vehicle. If it's not that, it's missing or poorly functioning equipment. One time, you charged me over $1,600 for some equipment I had not rented because a unit number had been entered into the system incorrectly. It took multiple phone calls and over two weeks to get my money back. No one at U-Haul really seems to care. It's likely the person reading this has nothing to do with any of the problems I've experienced, but the leadership at your company does and should care. Here's my personal message to your CEO: "U-Haul's customer experience is among the shittiest I've ever encountered anywhere, and I've experienced some pretty bad service. I imagine you don't give a whit about that, but just know that you run one of the worst companies in America. Congratulations. Love, Rob" Please send that to Mr. Shoen's email.
