My rental experience was not pleasant. The original location that I chose to pick up from had not received the trailer I reserved. I was given no notification from U Haul that this was a problem. I had to spend 30 minutes on the phone with a regional rep to try to find a trailer. I ended up driving 40 minutes out of my way to get the trailer. Thanks to Sumter Rentals for making the pick up easy. Customer service there was excellent. As for U Haul, they offered nothing for the time and inconvenience of having to travel that far to get the trailer. My original pick up was to be 9 miles from my house and pick up was scheduled for 9:00 am. It took my entire morning to get the trailer and I didn’t get home until around noon. What should have taken less than an hour took nearly 3 hours.

Wynette WAlthough at the time that I went to this location, the facility was 'officially closed' and I was to use the mobile check in - a very nice lady executed the paperwork in her office and assisted me in the process of taking pictures of the vehicle as required. She was the best portion of the entire rental process. Prior to this location, I had location pick up changes, shortage of equipment (appliance dolly and/or hand truck). UHaul corporate needs to address equipment shortages, as apparently the process is for the customer to go to more than one location for all their needs if no single location has all the items requested. What an insane idea of that being customer service friendly!
